Mike 'The Tank' Schutte 10-2-1 (9) v Burghard Lembke 15-14-1 (3), 8 rounds
Lembke handed Schutte his second loss, and here is the rematch. Mike Schutte didn't impress but won a wide UD with the scores; 79-72, 78-72 and 78-72. Lembke was down in 4th and 8th. Mike Schutte improves to 11-2-1 (9) Peter Boddington 20-2-1 (15) v Dennis Avoth 20-5-2, 12 rounds for the BBU title. Boddington defends his british championship for the 1st time since defeting Del Phillips. Avoth send Boddington down in 9th and won a UD with the scores; 115-112 on all three scorecards! Dennis Avoth improves to 21-5-2 and is the new british champion. Al 'Gould's Terror' Jones 32-5-0 (7) v Jurgen Blin 28-12-1 (7), 10 rounds Al Jones faces the former EBU champ as he looks to rebound from his loss, in October last year, against Earnis Shavers. Al had some starting trouble, but slowly took over as he knocked Blin down in the 8th, before giving him a brutal beating in the 9th to make the referee stop the action! Al Jones improves to 33-5-0 (8) with a TKO 9 win. Joe Bugner 23-6-0 (16) v Giuseppe Ros 22-6-1 (10), 12 rounds for the EBU title. Bugner at times looks fantastic, and at time looks terrible. What Bugner will we see today as he looks to revenge a loss against Ros. Bugner knocked Ros down in the 1st. He had some trouble throughout the fight, but his hand speen, his power and his defence should give the edge on the cards; 116-112 for Bugner, 114-114 even and 116-112 for Bugner! Joe Bugner keeps his EBU belt and improves to 24-6-0 (16) with a MD 12 win. Last edited by aaaaaaaaa : 01-26-2008 at 08:20 AM. |

Magness Arena, Denver, CO, USA Leroy Jones 1-0-0 (1) v David Mills 7-6-2, 6 rounds Note: I am the matchmaker and trainer of Leroy Jones. The most impressive thing on Mills record is a MD 8 loss to Rudi Lubbers. The main reason he's been picked is that he's only been stopped once and has only been send to the canvas twice. Normal 1st round: Mills lands a hook and a jab. Jones lands to the head and body. Jones lands a hook. Jones lands a lead right. Jones lands a flurry. Mills lands a short uppercut. Jones lands to Mills' chest. Jones lands a short uppercut. Jones lands a overhand right. 10/9 Jones Fight outside (offense). 2nd round: Jones lands a jab. Jones bangs home an uppercut. Mills lands a jab. Mills lands a right cross. Mills lands another right cross. 19/19 Normal 3rd round: Jones lands a flurry. Small exchange. Mills lands a jab. Jones lets his hands go. Mills lands a combo. Jones lands the right cross. 29/28 Jones. Fight outside (offensive) 4th round: Not much is happening. Jones lands a lead right. Jones throws punches in bunches. Jones lands two quick jabs. Jones lands a jab. Mills lands to the body. 39/37 Jones Go For KO 5th round: Jones lands a combo. Jones lands a right cross. Jones lands to the chest and neck. Jones lands a flurry. Jones lands an uppercut. Mills lands a cross. Mills lands to the head and body. 49/46 Jones Fight outside (offensive) 6th round: Mills lands an uppercut. Jones fires a solid combo. Mills wins an exchange. Jones lands to the chest and neck. Mills lands an uppercut. Jones wins an exchange. Mills lands the right hand. 58/56 Jones Very non-impressive perfomance from Jones. Scorecards: 58-56 Jones 57-57 Even 58-56 Jones Leroy Jones MD 6 David Mills. Jones improves to 2-0-0 (1), but let's hope this was just one bad day, cause it was not good. |

Al Jones will defend NABF title against Earnie Shavers NABF champ Al Jones (33-5-0 with 8 KO's) will defend his title for the first time since defeating George Chuvalo (38-12-0 with 28 KO's) to win it, in August last year. John Dino Denis 7-0-1 (1) v Roger Russell 27-11-0 (2), 10 rounds
Denis was cut in the 1st. 2-5 was very close. Denis won 6-10 pretty clearly. I had it 97-94 for Denis. Official scorecards... 97-93 John Dino Denis 95-95 Even 97-93 John Dino Denis John Dino Denis improves to 8-0-1 (1) with a good win against athe former top contender Roger Russell who has lost 6 out of his last 8. Jerry Quarry 32-5-0 (26) v Larry Middleton 30-4-2 (8), 12 round NABF eliminator Jerry Quarry has a very special story. He won his first 27 fights and became IBF world champion along the way. Then he ran into Joe Frazier, and as expected lost. His next three matches were the ones which sent him back. Three straight losses to Al Jones (x2) and Pedro Agosto. He then gained a bit by defeating Jose Urtain. Then in a shocker, he lost to Mani Vaka. He seems to have regained some of his former self by winning his last 4 against Buster Mathis, Gianni Chiaromonte, Jack O Halloran and a rematch against Pedro Agosto. Larry Middleton is a smooth boxer who seems to come up short when he steps it up, against the likes of George Chuvalo and Earnie Shavers. He does hold a win against Doug Jones and a draw against Leotis Martin as his best results. The fight.. The fighters seem to be very close as they win rounds in exchange making it dead even after 6. Middleton is send to the canvas from a cross in the 7th. Middleton must have been motivated as he outboxes Quarry in 8th and 9th. Middleton just edges the 10th. Quarry is send down from a perfect hook in the 11th. Middleton ouboxes Quarry to win the 12th. I have it 115-111 for Larry Middleton Official scorecards... 115-111 Larry Middleton 113-113 Even 114-113 for Larry Middleton! Larry Middleton has guaranteed himself a shot at the NABF title as he improves to 31-4-2 (8) with a MD 12. Jerry Quarry moves to 32-6-0 (26). Gregorio Peralta 37-13-1 (22) v Jose Roman 24-8-0 (7), 12 rounds for the LABA title Former WBC world champion Gregorio Peralta takes on unknown Jose Roman for his 3rd defence of the LABA title. Roman stays busy to win the 1st. A point is detucted from Peralta in the 2nd, in a round too close to call. Roman wins 3rd by staying active. Peralta comes strong towards the end in the 4th to grab the round. Peralta lands a big combo in the 5th that sends Roman to the canvas. Roman barely gets up. Peralta starts gaining control as he wins the 6th. Not much happens in two close 7th and 8th rounds. Peralta easily wins a boring 9th. Roman wins 10th by keeping busy. Roman suddenly sends Peralta down in the 11th. Peralta gets up. Roman lands a low blow and is detucted a point in the 12th round, which he had won otherwise. Scorecards... 115-113 Gregorio Peralta 113-111 Jose Roman 113-111 The winner by split decision, and the NEW LABA champion Jose Roman! Sort of an upset, but Peralta is very shot. Jose Roman wins the LABA belt and improves to 25-8-0 (7). Ken Norton 27-2-0 (23) v Leotis Martin 33-10-2 (19), 15 rounds for the WBC and IBF world championship belts. First defence for Ken Norton since winning a clear cut UD 15 against Al Lewis. Ken Nortons first loss came against Chuck Wepner by 10th round DQ, a loss which he has revenged by stopping Wepner in the 3rd round. The other loss came via 5th round KO to Joe Frazier. Norton holds victories aganst Henry Clark, Dave Zyglewicz, Gregorio Peralta and Al Lewis. Leotis Martin has been a top contender for almost a decade now. His career highlight came when he stunned Joe Frazier with a 6th round TKO in one of the biggest upsets the boxing world has ever seen. Martin holds victories against a prime Santo Amonti, George Chuvalo(x2), Al Jones, Jimmy Ellis, Buster Mathis, Bob Foster and ofcourse Joe Frazier. He has always shown willingness to fight the best. Keys to victories.. Ken Norton should use his alround superior skills by boxing and going into exchanges where his hand speed, power and in the end his better stamina should make a difference. Make it a fight with many punches! Leotis Martin should try to make Norton slug him and possibly ruin the fight to stop Norton. The more terrible the fight is to look at, the bigger the chance for Leotis Maritn. Be a spoiler! The fight 1st round. Norton lands devastating hooks and uppercuts from the bell. Martin seems to walk through them as he lands good straight punches. Norton lands a strong body punch that makes Martin wince. 10/9 Norton 2nd round. Norton lands big punches, and Martin holds and lands small punches on the inside. Norton manages to keep Martin at a distande and pounds Martins face and body. Martin jumps in and lands a big hook that makes the fighters exchang bigtime at the bell. 20/18 Norton 3rd round. Norton lands a couple of strong punches. Martin score with many punches and stuns Norton with a straight right. Norton lands a huge punch at the bell, that won him the round. 30/27 Norton 4th round. Norton lands a big combination and follows with a hard uppercut. Martin smothers Norton on the inside. Martin lands a sweet uppercut that sends Norton into the ropes and follows with a crippling right hand. Norton is lucky to survive. 39/37 Norton 5th round. Norton lands big body blows and Martin cant take it, and puts a knee to the canvas. Martin stands up, but it seems like he is out of it. Norton lands huge punches, but somehow Martin stays upright and lands some good straight shots at the bell. 49/45 Norton 6th round. Martin starts strong scoring with stinging shots. Norton lands a devastating hook that sends Martin down! Martin gets up. Norton rips hooks to Martins body and goes up top with a single cross that sends Martin down again! Martin gets up once again but is out of it. Norton lands a jab and the ref suddenly stops the fight with two seconds left in the round!?. Ken Norton TKO 6 Leotis Martin Norton looked like he was winnning the fight, BUT no reason to stop a fight when there is two seconds left of a round and Martin was still throwing punches. Ken Norton improves to 28-2-0 (24) as he succesfully defends his titles. Leotis Martin moves to 33-11-2 (19). |

Oscar Bonavena gets shot at Jose Roman The newly crowned LABA champ Jose Roman (25-8-0 with 7 KO's) has shown guts as he will make his first defence against Oscar Bonavena (34-9-0 with 27 KO's) in August. Jose Roman is coming off a upset split decision victory against former world champion Gregorio Peralta (37-14-1 with 22 KO's) who looked very shot. Oscar Bonavena is 4-1 in his last 6 with the loss coming against Muhammad Ali (43-3-0 with 35 KO's). Jimmy Young looks to rebound against Boone Kirkman Jimmy Young (24-1-0 with 10 KO's) is coming off a brutal fight against Joe Frazier (33-3-0 with 32 KO's), where he, as the first ever, took Frazier to the 13th round. The scorecards at the end were in fact to Youngs favour. He will look to rebound in August against Boone Kirkman (22-5-0 with 16 KO's) who is coming off wins against Peter Weiland and Buster Mathis. Larry Middleton will fight tune up in August Larry Middleton (31-4-2 with 8 KO's) has guaranteed himself a NABF title shot at the winner of Al Jones (33-5-0 with 8 KO's) v Earnie Shavers (23-1-0 with 20 KO's) by defeating Jerry Quarry by Majority decision. He will fight on the undercard of that very fight, in a tune up bout against Peter Weiland (27-17-1 with 22 KO's). Middleton must expect that Shavers will win this, cause Weiland style is very similar to Shavers style. The ring rankings Ch. Joe Frazier 33-3-0 (32) 1. Ken Norton 28-2-0 (24) 2. George Foreman 25-0-0 (25) 3. Al Jones 33-5-0 (8) 4. Dave Zyglewicz 33-6-0 (24) 5. Al Lewis 29-2-2 (17) 6. Earnie Shavers 23-1-0 (20) 7. Oscar Bonavena 34-9-0 (27) 8. Leotis Martin 33-11-2 (19) 9. Larry Middleton 31-4-2 (8) 10. Jimmy Young 24-1-0 (10) |

Mammoth Gardens, Denver, CO, USA Leroy Jones 2-0-0 (1) v James Cornell 4-5-0 (1), 6 rounds scheduled Cornell looks to be an easy opponent after David Mills gave Jones some trouble. BTW: I have hired Dan Birmingham as trainer and Ace Marotta as cutman for Jones, but i will still choose the strategys for him. Normal 1st round: Jones lands the jab. Jones lands a straight right! Jones lands a cross. Jones lands to the head and body and moves away. Jones lands to the body. Jones lands the big hook! Jones lands a flurry. Jones lands a jab. Jones lands a perfect cross and Cornell goes down. Cornell doesn't move and is counted out! Leroy Jones KO 1 James Cornell. Very good perfomance, impressive boxing until Cornell couldn't take it anymore. He showed how to make up for the lack of punching power! My man, Leroy Jones improves to 3-0-0 (2). |

Ken Norton rumoured against Al Lewis WBC and IBF unified champion Ken Norton (28-2-0 with 24 KO's) has been rumoured to possibly defend against Al Lewis (29-2-2 with 17 KO's) should he beat journeyman Ron Stander (18-4-2 with 7 KO's) later this month. I'll be rooting for Frazier in his fight with Foreman but I don't like his chances for winning the fight. I can see things very easily going the same way for Frazier that they went in real life.
