I also remember that the clubs were pretty lively and seemed to play music that was about 10 years behind what was popular in the US at the time. Too bad I was only there for 2 days. It was fun.

It was very early in the year (Jan or Feb). I have a hard time remembering what I did yesterday, let alone in 1995...
Anyways, I had a good time in Aarhus and then the ship went to Copenhagen for about 8 days. After that, the ship went to Kristianstad, Norway. BTW, I remember that the Rolling Stones were in concert at a stadium in Copenhagen when I was there - too bad I was too broke to try and get tickets... Great writeups. I hope you keep it going...

Johnny Boudreaux 13-1-1 (1) vs Larry Frazier 20-4-1 (11), 8 rounds
Boudreaux got off to a got start as he dominated the 1st. Frazier seemed to find his range as he won 2nd thru 5th with superior boxing skills. Boudreaux catched his second wind as he dominated 6th and 7th. 8th was very close. Scorecards read 79-74 Frazier (?), 77-76 Boudreaux and 77-76 Frazier. Larry Frazier improves to 21-4-1 (11) as he is making a living out of defeating prospects on their way up. Johnny Boudreaux falls to 13-2-1 (1). Ron Stander 22-7-2 (8) vs Randy Neumann 23-11 (11), 10 rounds A very close fight! Seven actionfilled rounds, all very hard to score, was replaced with alot of grabbing and clinching as the fighters were tiring out in the final few rounds. Scorecards read 96-94 Stander, 95-95 and 96-94 Stander. Ron Stander improves to 23-7-2 (8) with a majority decision. Jimmy Young 29-3 (10) vs Al Lewis 31-6-2 (17), 12 rounds Young looks to rebound from losing his IBO belt versus Ken Norton in an entertaining fight and is favourite to do so succesfully. Round 1 Young is detucted a point for low blows in a round he dominates completely. 9-9 Round 2 Young dominates another round, where a hard cross does some good work for Lewis. 19-18 Young Round 3 Young cruises with his jab and fast lead right hands. 29-27 Young Round 4 Not much happens, Lewis is a bit more active. 38-37 Young Round 5 Easy round for Jimmy Young who seems to be better in every single department. 48-46 Young Round 6 Young takes it easy, dominating, for two minutes until a slugfest evolves. Both lands some ferocious blows in the final thirty seconds. 58-55 Young Round 7 The first one and a half minute is boring. Last part of the round is more exciting, but too close to call. 68-65 Young Round 8 Young edges the round by landing more. 78-74 Young Round 9 Easy round for Young who is quite simply better than Lewis. 88-83 Young Round 10 Boring round, Young is cruising, but doing nothing. 97-93 Young Round 11 A very close and somewhat dull round, is won by Lewis who is more active. Is Young gonna risk his win here? 106-103 Young Round 12 Young does the smart move as he makes sure the round is his by pounding Lewis. 116-112 Young - it should and could have been a much bigger margin. Scorecards are 116-112, 116-111 and 117-111 all for Young Jimmy Young fought a lazy fight but did what he had to, as he improves to 30-3 (10). Al Lewis drops to 31-7-2 (17) and he is a shell of his former self. Ken Norton 32-3 (27) vs Jeff Merritt 31-8 (25) 15 rounds for the IBO championship of the world. Ken Norton takes voluntary IBO defence against Armando Zanini The reigning IBO champion and former WBC & IBF champion, Ken Norton (33-3, 28 KO) has announced that he will take a voluntary defence against italian Armando Zanini (25-5-2, 4 KO) on October 2nd. In what is mostly regarded as a tune up before the new champions of the 4 major belts will be crowned, he had some good things to say about his forthcoming opponent: "Zanini is a much underrated fighter, but he has improved a great deal during the last few years. He has beaten some world class fighters. Henry Clark, Dennis Avoth, Jose Luis Garcia and Del Phillips prove just how tough he is" WBA tourney participants rumoured: With the announcements of the participants for the WBA tourney to crown the new WBA champ close to being announced, rumours are flying high.
