The RtWH2008 VP nomination thread
Those of you who have followed the Rumble to the White House 2008 know that Rudy Giuliani has won the GOP party's nomination for president. It will now be up to him to select an appropriate partner for the GOP ticket.
Alan Keyes and Fred Thompson have been given automatic bids based on their performance in the primaries. The Giuliani campaign is requesting assistance from readers to help fill out the field of potential nominees. Here is how this will work: Please nominated a candidate for VP. The candidate can be someone who participated in the GOP presidential primary (like Ron Paul or John McCain). Or it can be someone who is currently active in US politics but did not participate in the presidential primary (like Sam Brownback or Lindsay Graham). The candidate must be a US citizen of appropriate age (over 35). You can nominate more than one candidate. Once a candidate is nominated, he or she must be seconded by another individual in order to become a viable VP candidate. A candidate must be nominated AND seconded in order to become a legitimate choice for VP. If this candidate was in the primary, the original fighter file will be used. If this candidate was not in the primary, he or she will be "rolled up" using the RFG. Once we have between 6-8 candidates, the candidates will be put up for vote, the candidate receiving the most votes will become Giuliani's partner in the upcoming RtWH2008 general election. |

I nominate Abassador Alan Keyes.
He has intimate knowledge of India in particular and Asia in general. He will appeal to elements of the Republican base that may be somewhat skeptical of Giuliani. He also has a mean right hook and has Wyoming in his back pocket (or was it Montana?).

I think we can let that one slide.
![]() Confirmed and on the VP ballot: Alan Keyes Fred Thompson Ron Paul Jeb Bush Condoleeza Rice Nominated but awaiting a second: Sam Brownback There is still plenty of time to get your favorite candidate on the ballot! The nominating process will continue until the RtWH2008 completes the March 4 Primaries. |

Since no one else has seconded him I'll do it. Make the VP race a little more interesting.
