Apparently not, it must have been a painful introduction.

An inspired career move no doubt. Perhaps one he should have considered, oh, 40-50 fights ago. ![]()

Fighter: Woolf Bendoff
Division: Heavyweight Record: 9(3)-44(31)-3 Notes: Woolf was not even close to being a mediocr fighter, he was just plain terrible. He started off his career in 1890 with a knockout loss in the first round and ended his career in 1898 with a technical knockout loss in the first round. Woolf never had a fight go past the eighth round, his fights averaged 4.5 rounds in his career. Bendoff scored an unimpressive 6 knockdowns in all of his fights and was dropped 53 times. Woolf averaged a 29% connect percentage compared to 37% by his opponents.

January 1899
Fighter: Owen Hannon
Division: Bantamweight Record: 15(2)-42(10)-7 Notes: Hannon made a brief appearance in the main division with no success. He was moved back to beginners division after only three fights. The one good thing you can say about Owen is that he sure knew how to take a beating. Fighter: Denny Kelliher Division: Heavyweight Record: 21(9)-37(14)-1 Notes: Denny was a decent fighter from time-to-time, the problem was his bad times were for longer periods than his good. Denny spent some time in the old club division with moderate success before being dropped back to beginner when the club division was disbanded.

February 1899
Fighter: W C McClellan
Division: Middleweight Record: 16(4)-41(12)-9 Notes: McClellan was another punching bag. He spent some time in the main division early in his career but had zero success. McClellan lost his last six fights, four of those by knockout.

March 1899
Fighter: Bill Bushell
Division: Lightweight Record: 10(2)-40(6)-7 Notes: Bill fought a short time in the former club division with no success. At one point Bill lost 15 consecutive bouts to tomato cans. As bad as his record was not many fighters stopped him during his lack luster career. Fighter: Mick Ives Division: Welterweight Record: 18(3)-49(21)-2 Notes: Mick fought once for the HOC (Heroes Oceania Championship) but lost a unanimous decision. After that his career just fell apart. He was moved back to the beginners and had very little success against the tomato cans.

May 1899

His last ten fights he went 0-9-1. Fighter: Luke Keegan Division: Light-Heavyweight Record: 20(3)-44(14)-7 Notes: The most noteable thing in looks career is that he landed less than 20% of his punches. Fighter: Dick Moore Division: Middleweight' Record: 14(2)-49(19)-2 Notes: At one point Dick lost 15 consecutive fights. The most fights he won in a row was 3. June 1899
Fighter: Tom Hinch
Division: Heavyweight Record: 18(4)-41(12)-5 Notes: Hinch spent some time in the ring with a few bright stars from the main division but didn't win any of those fights. Fighter: Micky Kirby Division: Lightweight Record: 15(5)-38(11)-8 Notes: Kirby never made a move into the main division. His one bright spot in his career is that he was only cut three times. Fighter: Patsy Sheehan Division: Bantamweight Record: 10(1)-47(14)-8 Notes: In 429 rounds of boxing he only scored four knockdowns and earned one stoppage.

July 1899
Fighter: George Fletcher
Division: Lightweight Record: 18(3)-35(7)-8 Notes: Fletcher was never a threat at moving into the main division. He spent his career building tomato can records. Fighter: Fred Millar Division: Middleweight Record: 15(4)-50(19)-4 Notes: Millar was only stopped 19 times out of 50 losses, that is fairly impressive. Fighter: Boko Thompson Division: Lightweight Record: 19(5)-39(10)-4 Notes: Just another bum Fighter: Jack Welsh Division: Heavyweight Record: 24(4)-38(10)-5 Notes: Welsh was a streaky fighter, he would win for a while then lose for a while. If he had found some punching power he might have been a contender.

Yeah, I've got one or two middle-of-the-road fighters coming up on time to retire. There could be a random retirement pop up here and there too. But as for now yeah its still just the bums.
