MOTR Mega Tournamement

After reading and enjoying so many of the Universes and Tournaments, I've finally decided to put something together. I don't know if I can stick with it, but we'll see what happens.

Since there have already been successful Tournaments using primarily the "superstar" fighters and the "Tomato Can" fighters, I have chosen to start somewhere inbetween.

The Middle-Of-The-Road Mega Tournament will consist of only the 5-rated male fighters in all weight classes (806 total). The final tournament will have a 256-man field set up similar to the March Madness tournamnet with seedings. Once the brackets are established, a template will be posted for anyone to fill out. (I haven't yet figured out the points awarded for each round).

Anyways, with 806 potential fighters, there needs to be a way to get them to qualify and be ranked. I've decided to create 1000 4-rated fighters w/ the RFG and put them in a separate group as opponents.

Starting with the date of 01-01-2008, I will autoschedule 500 bouts evey 6 game days for on calander year. Each 5-rated "real" fighter will only fight the 4-rated RFG fighters to build up a record. All fighters will be lumped together, ignoring the WC. All bouts will be scheduled for 10-rounds prior to the tournament. Tournament bouts will be 15-rounds.

Once the calander year is completed, the fighters will be ranked according to their PP and then then the top 256 will be seeded into the Mega Tournament.

It will take a bit of time before I get to the actual Tournament, but I will post the top 5 guys from each weight class as the qualifying year progresses...

Currently, Mike Weaver is 6-2-0 (4) w/ 1132 PP (#246 of 806). He lost his last fight by a tough M10 decision against Finnish RFG fighter Tarmo Sirkia who now sports a 3-5-0 (0) record.

Scores: 94-96, 93-97, 95-95. Weaver landed only 15.8% of his punches to Sirkia's 54.3%. No KD's in the fight.

Weaver also lost his debut fight against American RFG fighter Mike Sykes who is now 5-2-0 (2). Actually, Weaver got jobbed in that one. He scored 3 KD's but lost a S10 decision 93-94, 93-94, 94-93.

I'm hoping that he makes the cut and finds his way into the Tournament.

I actually picked 5-rated guys because of a thread posted about the ratings of fighters where I mentioned that there was no way that Roman Greenberg should be rated the same as Mike Weaver at 5.

(For the record, Greenberg is only 3-8-0 (2) (#792 of 806) against the 4-rated RFG's so far with 689 PP's. )
