That may go down as one of the best UTBA matches ever.

I just saw this and jumped around a little bit.
Great match Matt.
I can just see it now . . Ortiz taking a beating from Vic in the last fight and everyone screaming in the Diggstown Camp . . DON'T GO DOWN!! or yelling at the ref to stop it.

I checked the rules and didn't see anything, what if it was a tie?
Fight the whole card again seems like the only reasonable thing to do, no??

I guess the Ringers will be going up the road to check out Hebron . . . The streets of Hartford are buzzing with UTBA talk!

I'll check the bout log, but I think that Ortiz got dropped at least three times in the 1st before the stoppage.

I guess there really isn't anything in the rules about a playoff tie. As the match was going on, I was wondering how to handle it. Hopefully there will be no ties in the Silver Conference Championship or the UTBA-II Title Match. After the season, I'll put up a poll to address how to handle playoff ties. (I think that replaying the entire match is a viable option, but there might be alternate ideas.)

Here is the bout log for the infamous last bout of the Gold Conference Championship match between Vic Darchinyan & Eric Ortiz.

If Darchinyan had scored a KO, the match would have ended in a tie.

Ortiz took a pounding, but managed to get up after all 3 knockdowns before referee Juergen Langos stops the contest.

Congrats to Thunder and his Ringers on an excellent win. I can't imagine it being much closer. Schmeling looked more like Schmuckling tonight. Maybe a case of H1N1? Who knows, at any rate, the torch has been passed.

A great match between 2 great teams! 2 majority decisions and 1 split decision in the second half also were huge factors. The Ringers must have had their horseshoe working. Or, with their power, horseshoes in their gloves!

The UTBA-II Season 3 Championship Match has been set.

The Gold Conference Champion Diggstown Ringers will face off against Silver Conference Champion Hebron Haymakers. The bout will be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas NV (USA).

I should be able to run the match tomorrow, but if not, I will run it no later than Sunday.

Nevada?!? What's wrong with a neutral site like Waterbury? Some guy named Rowland wants to be one of the judges.

Good match SAL - that second half started looking scarey. Honestly, I'm not sure it mattered if the Ringers or Beavers won, Hebron may not be able to run with either of them.

The Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino has been used for each of the UTBA-II Championship matches so far.

Maybe you are having flashbacks of the mauling you took in last season's championship match there...

I nominate Juan Jose Guerra, Eugenia Williams and Gale Van Hoy.....Three Blind Mice.

Congrats to both on making the finals.
