I still believe that it is a good idea to have each league member submit two boxers from the database to be submitted into the draft.

As for the draft, I will post a list of fighters that can be chosen at each weight class rating as per the ratings available. I don't have a problem if anyone wants to submit a list to me as to what fighters can be added and listed for the draft. This is the list of fighters that will be chosen from to fulfill drafting requests sent to be by PM for guys that will not be avialable for the draft. My plan (just like in the last draft) is to return any undrafted fighters on this list back into the DB and not just add them to the Free Agent/Waiver Pool when the season begins. One of the Poll questions asks if we should add any undrafted fighters to the Free Agent / Waiver Pool. I voted "NO" because the Free Agent / Wavier pool is big enough now and just adding fighters that do not enter the league via the draft seems to dilute the importance of the draft itself. We have seen so far how much of a beating "beginning" fighters take early on in their careers. I don't see how adding a bunch more "beginning" fighters will facilitate the roster movement that some team owners desire. (Of course, checking the Poll, it looks like that suggestion will pass - and I will abide by it. Once the poll closes we can discuss how many fighters per weight class will be added) |

As for me,I'm not against changes, but I think we should leave things as simple as possible as to not add any more work to the job of commish. I like the stats that the commish produces and if we add more work it will become a job and no fun for the commish and that is when problems arise. I like the stats and wish to keep the league as simple as possible so that he will continue to have time to provide us with the awesome statistics that have added so much to this endeavor. Just my opinion fellas.

So far none of the polls has reached the 13-vote majority (not counting the non-league members that voted). Once the polls are decided, we can move on to implimenting any of the changes.
I've been very busy at work and have had little time to prep my files and such for Season 4 - but am slowly working on it. I will post a modified draft order including the new teams and traded draft picks, but I need to dig back through the draft thread to find any picks that may have been traded last season. If anyone knows any previous trades that swapped draft picks in the Season 4 draft, please let me know - I can't seem to find where I recorded them. If not, I will have to plod through last season's draft to find them. Thanks |

Poll Status
Here are the results so far for the 6 Rules Changes/Additons Polls that were posted (NOTE: Not all members have chosen to vote)
Poll #1: Should the fighter DB be updated from the stock TBCB 2.5 DB? YES - 7* (1 non-league member voted) NO - 11 Abstain - 4* (1 non-league member voted) After removing the votes from non-league members, NO is the consensus based on an 11-6-3 margin. (Even if the last 4 members voted for 'yes' the 'no' would still have a majority. DECISION: The fighter DB will not be updated at this time. Next season, we can vote on this again. Poll #2: Should UTBA-II institute a contract system to facilitate roster turnover? YES (Lee's suggestion #1) - 3 YES (Lee's suggestion #2) - 6* (1 non-league member voted) YES (rotorhead's suggestion) - 1* (1 non-league member voted) NO - 10 After removing the non-league member votes, the "no" currently leads 10-5 over Lee's #2 suggestion (Contracts w/ 4 Franchise fighters). Only 18 league votes have been cast, leaving 6 open votes. One more vote for "no" will end this poll with a majority decision for leaving the league as it it. DECISION: Poll #2 remains open for now. One more "no" vote will end this poll. If "no changes" is the majority decison, we can vote again on it next season. Poll #3: Should UTBA-II institute an annual draft for Cornermen (Trainer/Cutman)? YES - 9 NO - 11 Abstain - 1 You guys probably noticed that I kind of screwed up posting this poll and did not allow the voting to be open. Therefore, I cannot see if there were any non-league members voting here. So far "no" has a 2-vote lead, but if there were 2 non-league votes cast for "no" it would be a dead heat. DECISION: Poll will be left open for now. Hopefully there will be a clear majority decision. Poll #4: Should the Season 4 Draft be conducted on yuuguu? YES - 4 NO - 13* (1 non-league member voted) Abstain - 3* (1 non-league member voted) After removing the 2 non-league member votes, "no" leads 12-4 with 3 "abstain" votes. With 6 league members yet to vote, the 12 "no" votes will have a majority. DECISION: The UTBA-II Draft will be conducted on this board in the UTBA-II Draft thread as in previous seasons. This item and be readdressed after Season 4. Poll #5: Should undrafted fighters be added to the Free Agent/Waiver Pool after the Draft? Yes - 11* (2 non-league members voted) No -9 Abstain - 0 After removing the 2 non-league member votes, this poll is deadlocked 9-9 with 6 league member votes outstanding. DECISION: Poll remains open - awaiting further league member votes. Poll #6: How should the Season 4 Draft be run? Original UTBA Model (all draft from list of available fighters) - 6 UTBA-II Season 2 Model (Open draft/No lists/Commissioner Autopick) - 1 UTBA-II Season 3 Model (Open Draft/Lists available to pick from/Commissioner picks from list for PM draft directions) - 9* (1 non-league member voted) All options suck - 1 Abstain - 1 After removing the 1 non-league member vote, the UTBA-II Season 3 draft method narrowly leads the UTBA draft method (lists) 8-6. Only 17 members voted on this poll and there is no majority as of yet. DECISION: Poll remains open. Only 17 0f 24 votes have been cast. I would like to have a clear majority on this before a decision is made. |

I would like to set a date for the Season 4 Draft even though everyone has not voted on the polls. If by the end of this weekend, no one else has voted, I will assume that these members choose not to vote.
Next week will not work for me becuase I am "on-call" for work and do not want to get pulled away in the middle of the draft. My suggestion is Saturday February 13th for Rnd 1 & 2, followed by Round 3 on Sunday February 14th. Like last season, I would like to start the draft @ 11:00am EST. Each team will have 10 minutes to make a draft selection. (24 x 10 minutes = 4 hours). Round 1 will end @ 3:00pm EST. Round 2 will begin @ 5:00pm EST and run 4 hours til 9:00pm Round 3 will begin the following morning @ 11:00am EST and run 4 hours, ending @ 3:00pm. If Sat/Sun (13 &14 February) will not work, please let me know. I want to nail down a date so we can start Season 4. I apologize again for this taking so long, but I have been very busy with work and I don't forsee it slowing down until at least June/July timeframe. For those unable to attend the draft, please PM me with a list of pick and/or draft strategy. More details will be posted once the date is confirmed and a final decision is made concerning the 6 posted polls. --------------------------------------------- Prior to the draft, feel free to arrainge any player/draft pick trades. The Off-Season is officially open and the 105-point Salary Cap is now waived until the post-draft waiver rounds are completed. Please PM me (Romultiltus) with any trades and I will update the roster pages. I plan on adding new roster pages for all 24 teams in the 'Rosters' thread so that the Season 3 data can be retained on the board. Time permitting, I also want to add an "Almanac" page for each current team listing various stats. (Time permitting). All of these pages will have a master link in my sig to try and keep them easy to find. (Most of the pages will probably just be placeholders until I get time to finish them) |

I've bumped the polls so they don't get lost. There are still a couple of league members who have not participated. All league members are encouraged to vote (your opinions are important to the success of the league)
-------------------------------- I have updated 16 of 24 Season 4 Roster Pages. The main Season 4 Roster Link page can be accessed via the link in my sig. -------------------------------- Looking for any feedback (positive or negative) on the proposed Season 4 Draft date of 13/14 February... -------------------------------- Shortly, I will be posting the list of fighters currently in the Free Agent/Waiver Pool. All of these fighters are eligable to be re-drafted (as long as there is an available weight class rating left on the board). With regards to the Free Agent / Waiver Pool: Any fighter who remains idle for 3 consecutive seasons will be automatically retired after the completion of the third season of inactivity. Since we are starting Season 4, any fighter who has not fought since Season 1 and remains inactive at the end of Season 4 will retire. These fighters will be identified in 'red' when the Free Agent/Waiver list is posted. |

...and I am the owner of Left Jab Inc and we are known for being outstandingly mediocre almost every season lol. Just hope to be able to remain in the middle of the pack as some of my key fighters are ready to start to show their age a bit this season. ![]()

Thanks for the reponses so far. Looks like Feb 13/14 will work for a bunch of us. Please let me know if you will not be available for your draft picks.
------------- Sorry about lack of updates over the past few days. Work has really taken away any free time I have this week. |
