Whew! Got that first one over with. Talk about ring rust.
I did not include the judges scores hoping things work out and Romy will be able to upload the bout logs. Added the (c) next to the TKO's meaning the fight was stopped because of a cut. Check the scoring. I found myself going over and over it because I kept wanting to add it up like I used too. All wins = 2 points. Add 1 point for TKO/UD wins Add 1.5 points for KO win Take away 1 point for the DQ loss. |

Former Barbarian ...
... Cocoa Kid rocked in his first bout, but bounces back for a win in the second!

I think that the new scoring system worked out well. The Bald Beavers finished 15-15-2 (11) 1DQ w/ 6 outright KO's The Baltimore Binks finished 15-15-2 (6) w/ 5 outright KO's In the old system, the Bald Beavers would have won 42 to 38 - a 4 point margin due to the edge in KO's (11 to 6) and the loss of a point from the DQ. In the new system the Bald Beavers only won by 1.5 points despite having scored more KO/TKO victories. Again, the Beavers lost a point due to the DQ. |

I was looking over the bout logs and I see that I made a terrible error and I mean terrible. I used Stockholm's beautiful ring girl (Vicky Pollard) instead of mikehoudini's. I owe Mike more than an apology for this. For what it's worth....I'm sorry Mike, and I'm sorry you had to look at that creature in between rounds. I promise I'll never let that happen again.

Thanks, bear. We were definitely scrappy, though my man Henry Hank fared poorly. We feel honored to have made this match as close as it was, and we'll be back. We might have had a problem with our waterboy, who was no Gungha Din!
But he'll learn. The Beavers escaped with a close win, and we salute them, but the Binks will be back!

Team rosters for the first two matches have been updated.
Also, I've been working on a trade now for some time. I hope to complete it before the two teams involved go to battle. The reason it's taking some time is, I'm one of the owners involved.

The old guard had a spotty debut at best, with big Ike being a particular disappointment with his two losses and one by an onerous DQ. I was halfway hoping to go with a plan B during the roster phase, and exile Ike when umk looked like he would claim him, and now I'm wondering if Plan B should have been plan A. Quntana pulled a surprise beating Cocoa Kid but then showing his vulnerability in the second round match. Eddie Cotton is already making me wonder why I made him a priority, especially when his more lightly regarded LHW teammate, George Nichols, enjoyed success in both matches while he managed more poorly. Speaking of Nichols, I'll be resurrecting my fighter of the week again this season, and Nichols, who fought over his head both matches to preserve stoppage wins for the Beavers, seems to be the likely first week winner. Caballero who also fared very well, is in the running, but also earned fights he was expected to win. Disappointment for the squad include not only the dismal Ibeabuchi, but both of my Flyweights as well, who each fared less than expected against Baltimore's Flyweight duo.
