Results - Preliminary Round A - Day 6

Day 6
Series - 7 - Prelim A
(2) Round 2 Jackson Harrison -vs- Rubble Barney

After a slow 1st round where both seems reluctant to mix it up, Rubble takes over, utilizing his speed to make Jackson miss and then scoring with punishing counter punches. Rubble knocks Jackson down in the 8th and once more in the last round, which lasted the full 10 count.

Rubble KO10 Jackson
Scores: 88-83, 88-83, 87-84

(2) Round 2 Mabingnay Nestor -vs- Halleck Gurney

This was a massacre as Halleck seems to not be interested in fighting Mabingay at all. He put up very little resistance against Mabingay, who was on a mission right from the get go. Mabingay beat up Halleck pretty badly in the 5th, not letting up on his brutal assault until Halleck was finally down and out.

Mabingnay KO5 Halleck
Scores: 39-37, 40-36, 38-38

(2) Round 2 Witten Drew -vs- Dickinson Stephen

After a see-saw first half of the fight, Witten took control using his superior defense to make Dickinson miss alot of punches, while landing his own punches almost at will. What he lacked in power he made up for in accuracy, hitting 60% of his punches compared to just 17% for Dickinson on his way to a dominant win over the debuting Dickinson.

Witten UD10 Dickinson
Scores: 97-93, 97-93, 98-92

Series - 4 - Prelim A
(2) Round 2 Scott Montgomery -vs- Pilsner Edward

Pilsner made the mistake of trying to slug it out with Scott and ended up being on the receiving end of Scott's vaunted power punches. Pilsner got hurt right at the start of the 2nd round, and barely beat the 10 count but was able to not only survive but also take the next 2 rounds. Pilsner apparently didn't learn his lesson and again traded heavy leather with Scott and was put down again early in the 9th for a 9 count and then again, late into the round, this time for the full count.

Scott KO9 Pilsner
Scores: 75-77, 76-75, 76-75

(2) Round 2 Zoega Ulrik -vs- Alvarez Alexis

Alvarez was the more aggressive fighter, throwing more punches but Zoega was able to slip past most of them easily. He finally caught Zoega with a beautiful combination which sent him down for an 8 count early in the 6th. Zoega was looking tired in the 7th when Alvarez got careless and was tagged with a well-timed hook to the liver which brought him down to his knees and barely beat the count. That was Zoega's last hurrah as he got nothing left and his face was a complete mess with his left eye almost swollen shut and a cut just outside the left eye. Alvarez dominated the final 2 rounds, knocking Zoega down again early in the 10th.

Alvarez UD10 Zoega
Scores: 97-90, 97-90, 97-92

(2) Round 2 Dava Ramil -vs- Harkonnen Vladimir

Dava was moving well and hitting his shots against Harkonnen in the first 2 rounds. In the 3rd, Harkonnen cam alive and punished Dava throughout the round and finally knocked him down and out late in the round.

Harkonnen KO3 Dava
Scores: 18-20, 18-20, 18-20

Series - 3 - Prelim A
(2) Round 2 Colomo Luis -vs- Jouste Lancelot

Jouste won the first 2 rounds utilizing his speed and his favorite punches, the hook and the cross, to punish his opponent. Colomo came back in round 3, behind his jab and lethal combinations, to keep Jouste at bay for much of the round. Colomo then poured it on in the next round and swung for the fences, several of them landing flush and definitely hurting Jouste before the referee moved in to stop the contest. With only 2 seconds left in the round, many people were questioning the stoppage as it seemed that Jouste was not in really in deep trouble and still looks capable of defending himself.

Colomo TKO4 Jouste
Scores: 28-29, 28-29, 28-29

(2) Round 2 Corrino Shaddam -vs- Sugay Joshua

Corrino uses his superior defense to evade most of Sugay's punches and counter punching effectively to keep him off balance in the early going. Sensing that the fight was slowly slipping away, Sugay took a gamble and decided to test the chin of Corrino by going all out in the next round. 30 seconds in, Sugay caught him with a huge uppercut that dropped Corrino for an 8 count, and sensing that his gamble was paying off, he stalked Corrino for the rest of the round, knocking him down 3 more times, the last for the full 10 count.

Sugay KO5 Corrino
Scores: 37-39, 37-39, 36-40

(2) Round 2 Luong Cao-Ky -vs- Jetson George

Luong caught a bad break, getting cut over the forehead just as the 1st round ended. He then got beaten up by Jetson and could never get into any rhythm at all, as the cut and the worsening swelling really bothered him throughout the match. Jetson rocked Luong several times over the fight and finally drops him for a brief 2 count in round 8 before the cut he sufferred earlier got bad enough for the doctors to stop the fight.

Jetson TKO8 Luong
Scores: 70-63, 70-63, 69-65

Results - Preliminary Round A - Day 7

Day 7
Series - 2 - Prelim A
(2) Round 2 Moon Ivory -vs- Kudu Umman

Moon came in undertrained, while Kudu was overtrained. Apparently over is better as Umman was more dominant in the fight, using his speed to get more punches inside the defense of Moon. Moon could not get into any kind of rhythm and he was completely off his game getting hit with numerous big shots. He got caught with a short hook late in the 8th and goes down for a 2 count. An uppercut halfway through the 9th sends him back down again for a 5 count.

Kudu UD10 Moon
Scores: 98-90, 98-90, 99-90

(2) Round 2 Soto Antonio -vs- Flintstone Fred

Soto and Flintstone decided to test each other's chin and slugged it out right from the opening bell. Both were throwing alot of punches but most do not find their mark. After a see-saw first 4 rounds, where neither were hurt from each other's punches, Flintstone suddenly landed a risky wild overhand right that caught Soto right on the chin and drops him to one knee and take the full 10 count.

Flintstone KO5 Soto
Scores: 38-38, 38-38, 36-40

(2) Round 2 Sadler Vaughan -vs- Lita Bayani

Lita was aggressively throwing alot of punches but just could not find his mark often enough to do much damage to Sadler. Sadler chose to conserve his energy and elected to pick his shots. It paid off as he was able to catch Lita numerous times as he was backing away from exchanges. Sadler was deducted a point in the 9th for an inadverdent low blow but it hardly mattered as he has pretty much won the fight. Neither fighter was hurt and both walked away with their faces intact.

Sadler UD10 Lita
Scores: 94-95, 96-93, 96-93

Series - 9 - Prelim A
(2) Round 2 Kynes Liet -vs- Sangree Pedro

Kynes and Sangree slugged it out over 10 rounds but it was the aggression of Sangree that was the difference maker. Using his superior speed, he seemed to throw 2 punches for every 1 that Kynes threw and they were landing often enough for the judges to give him most of the rounds.

Sangree UD10 Kynes
Scores: 98-93, 97-94, 99-92

(2) Round 2 O'Meara Mike -vs- Clampett Jed

O'Meara was in trouble right from the start as Clampett catches him with a powerful shot right under the ribcage which drops him for an 8 count. It was all Clampett as O'Meara was mostly on the run and throwing token punches trying to keep Clampett away from him. A huge uppercut midway through round 2, which lifted his feet from the canvas and then fell down on his back, spelled the beginning of the end for O'Meara. He manages to get up at 8 but was clearly out of it as Clampett swarmed him with power punches and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight.

Clampett TKO2 O'Meara
Scores: 10-8, 10-8, 10-8

(2) Round 2 Hill Terry -vs- Davis Corey

Hill used his superior footwork to box circles around Davis, but still got tagged numerous times by the power punches of Davis. Hill was caught off guard in the 7th and was knocked down for a 6 count with a nice combination of punches from Davis. It was a close fight and the furios pace of the action had both fighters exhausted by the final round.

Hill SD10 Davis
Scores: 96-95, 96-94, 94-96

Series - 11 - Prelim A
(2) Round 2 Walshe Maurice -vs- Avancena Sinfronio

This was a fight that had as much action rounds as sleeper rounds. Walshe dominated the action rounds to control the fight and capped it off with an 8 count knockdown in the last round.

Walshe UD10 Avancena
Scores: 96-94, 98-92, 99-92

(2) Round 2 Bullwinkle Raging -vs- Idaho Duncan

Bullwinkle outclasses Idaho in dominant fashion, clearly taking most of the rounds. Idaho seemed reluctant to let his hands go despite being able to consistently land his shots when he did throw punches.

Bullwinkle UD10 Idaho
Scores: 98-92, 96-95, 98-92

(2) Round 2 Denver Bob -vs- Williams Nathan

Denver dominates the middle rounds to easily take the fight as Williams had no answer to Denver's superior hand speed and defense. Denver caught him with a well timed uppercut that caused a flash knockdown to Williams in the 4th round, and Williams got frustrated and just could not find his range at all throughout the whole fight.

Denver UD10 Williams
Scores: 98-91, 97-92, 98-91
