TBCB Create-A-Fighter Championship

Well, with the UTBA seemingly on a hiatus, I was bored and I was thinking of running a fictional boxing tournament championships where instead of weight class, we use rating class. Boxers will only fight against boxers of the same rating. Hopefully many people will be interested to join to make it more fun.

Participants must create a full team of boxers with ratings from 0 to 14, and 1 boxer per rating (so 15 total boxers). Depending on the number of participants, the preliminary round will be either a single or double round robin, after which the top __ (to be determined) boxers from each rating class will advance to the single or double round elimination championship tournament to crown the champion of each rating class.

We will have a medal standings to rank the performance of every participant.

Let's see who can get the bragging rights of being the best "fighter creator" of TBCB!

Note 1:
To make things simple, I will use HW weightclass and everyone would be at prime career stage.

Note 2:
Please set fouling to "Seldom" and conditioning to 1.

Note 3:
Regarding 2pt/3pt Punch % Depending on your HP, the max 3pt punch % you can have is below:
HP 0: 0
HP 1: 0 - 3
HP 2: 3 - 5
HP 3: 6 - 9
HP 4: 10-12
HP 5: 13-15
HP 6: 16-20
HP 7: 21-25
HP 8: 26-30
HP 9: 31-36
HP 10: 37-42
HP 11: 42-44
HP 12: 45-47
HP 13: 48-50

Note 4:
Please set Punches Missed to 62 and Clinching to 71.

Note 5:
Limit the southpaw fighters in your team to a total of 5 only.

Note 6:
Limit the fighters with "either" style in your team to a total of 4 only.

With regards to your question on start date, I'm not sure. I'm looking for a bit more people to join. Right now we only have 6 people joining, including me.

they should be at HW

hmm... trainers? I think I'll be using the generic trainers/cornermen to make it the same for everyone.

Russ: I checked your fighters and edited some of them to change the fouling to seldom and conditioning to 1. None of these affects the overall rating.
This is so that fighters will show up well conditioned for almost all fights and so that fighter will hopefully not end via DQ.

I would like to make a couple suggestions:

First, there should be a default for Punches Missed and Clinching. They do not effect the overall, but as an owner of the board game, I can tell you they DO matter quite a bit. I would suggest every fighter have a default of Punches Missed: 62 and Clinching: 71. If there's no default, these stats will be easily abused.

Second, if we want more variables, you could rule that every fighter must either be a Boxer or a Slugger, and not both. Being both makes a fighter much better, but doesn't effect the overall rating. Maybe you could put a limit on the total number of "Either" fighters each team can have, as well as southpaws, because I believe southpaw makes them better as well.

Also, should there be a limit on punch selection? Perhaps 50/50 between 2 and 3 point punches?

I'm not trying to hijack your contest, I just think it's cool, so I wanted to give suggestions to make it even better.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I haven't thought about that lol, but you're right. Punches missed and clinch does affect a fighter performance without affecting their overall rating. And I also forgot to say on the first post that style should only be boxer or slugger (no "either" allowed). But maybe a limit on the number of boxers with "either" style is gonna be more fun.

I'll manually change the fighters that were already submitted and add a note on the first post.

Regarding the southpaw, they do have an advantage over orthodox but they also have a penalty when fighting against other southpaws right?
hmm... maybe a limit would be needed, since noone would probably make orthodox fighters anymore lol.

Regarding the punch %, I was under the impression that it was just for display purposes, and I checked the manual again and apparently I read it wrong before. I guess I'll use the guide on the manual.

I was nearly spot on with this with the guys I created. I limited myself to 4 eithers and 3 southpaws. Have to decide who my two additional southpaws will be and adjust the PM and clinching.
