As I ready my war room I'd like a clarification on the waiver pool entrees deignated in red to return to the database if inactive. Would drafting one of these guys effect that status even if they get cut or would they need to be active for at least one fight?

We might need a rule change soon to protect Mel Turnbow's status

The Free Agent/Waiver Pool fighters listed in 'red' indicate that these fighters currently have 2 consecutive seasons of inactivity. If these fighters are not on a team roster and participate in at least 1 week of regular season action (2 fights) before the end of Season 4, they will be automatically retired. These fighters will no longer be available to any UTBA team.

As for Mel, since he has not actually competed in any regular season matches, this rule does not apply. Once he (or any fighter) has competed in an official UTBA-II match and then returned back into the Free Agent/Waiver Pool, the clock starts towards possible retirement.

Using Mel as an example: Bear's Unstable reaches out to re-draft Mel Turnbow with their 1st Round Pick and Mel earns a spot on the Unstable roster for Season 4 Week 1. After 2 very questionable decision losses (obviously the fights were fixed), Bear's Unstable chooses to part ways with good 'ol Mel and returns him to the Free Agent/Wavier Pool. For Mel to be automatically retired, he must spend the next 3 consecutive seasons in the Free Agent/Waiver Pool --- Season 5,6 &7 --- before he is automatically retired with a career record of 0-2.

Any of the fighters currently listed in 'red' can have their automatic retirement counter reset by fighting a single week in any UTBA-II regular season action and then dropped from a team.

I hope this clears things up. With this system, Mel can hang around until the point where all fighters in the DB are exhausted.

We still may need that special Mel Turnbow rule. Here in Baltimore, it is rumored that the Cocoa Kid (10), 45-17-6 or thereabouts, is looking for a new home. One of only 2 welterweight champions so far, I am hurt that he may want to flee our fair state. Though, after 44+ inches of snow this week, I'm ready to flee with him!

Season 4 - Weight Class Drafting Lists

The following lists of fighters are available to pick from for those who do not want to use the "open draft" option.
The UTBA-II Commissioner will select fighters from the lists below to fulfill PM'd drafting strategies such as:

- "Select highest available fighter left on the board"
- "Select highest MW left on the board"
- "Select a 7-rated Featherweight"
- "Select any 5-rated fighter"

NOTE: After the draft, any of the below listed fighters that have not been drafted will be returned to the main DB and will not be added to the Free Agent/Waiver Pool

As of right now, UTBA-II Poll #5 is passing that calls for adding non-drafted fighters to the Free Agent/Waiver Pool and that will be discussed further following the draft.

If anyone has any specific suggestions for fighters to be added to the below list, please PM them to me (romultiltus) prior to the draft and I will add them to the list - as long as the fighter's rating is available for the "open draft" option.
