UTBA-II Draft Thread

The draft will resume on Saturday, November 8 beginning at 08:00 pm CST. All 3 rounds will be held on November 8th & 9th during three seperate 3 hour time blocks.

Each team will have 5 minutes to make a selection. Times are posted next to the draft order numbers. If you see that you will not be able to make a pick in your alloted time frame, send me a PM of who you wish to choose and I'll make the pick for you.

Also, you do not have to wait for your time slot in the draft if the team ahead of you in the draft has already made their pick. You can draft early if it is your turn.

note: All remaining un-drafted rating numbers left in the draft pool will be discarded when the draft has concluded. Any fighter with or without a record left remaining in the draft pool, will be added back to the waiver pool.

note: The 105 team cap is waived during the draft. When the draft is over, I will give all owners 48 hours to reduce their roster to 16 fighters (2 fighters in each weight class) still with no cap restrictions. Once the 48 hours are up, any team that has not reduced their roster to 16 fighters, I will do so for them. After all the team rosters are back at 16 fighters, I'll open the waiver pool up for 7 days, 24 hour periods each day so owners can get their team cap back to 105 or lower. If needed, I'll extend the waivers for more than 7 days.

Available Fighters/Ratings for the Draft

DRAFT POOL

Season One draft ratings are posted below by weight class. Remember when making your draft selection of a rating, you must name the fighter you are selecting at the same time you make your pick. The fighter's overall prime rating that you name must match the (OR) you draft.
Any fighter that remains in the free agent pool will be added to this list at the end of the season.

Why wait? Start the draft now, but don't start the time limit until monday! OK, so I am impatient.

Fine with me. Just need to coax Greg into making his first pick. I think we can accommodate that.

I see no problem with starting now and holding off on the time limit till Monday. I'm so far down the list , I may not be making a selection until the end of the week anyway.

That sounds like a great idea. I also want to take this time to mention how much I really hate this draft class. For the weightclasses I wanted to improve there is nothing that I wanted so I've had to completely rework my plans which sucks.

Given my draft situation, I really like hearing this.

Sorry to smile at your misery dude...

Which week are you talking about? My first pick is a late second round choice.

Biggest decision I have will be deciding who the first Mr. Irrelevant of the new UTBA will be.

I hear ya Bear. My two picks are #40 and #56 overall in the draft - not much chance of selecting an impact maker for my team.

According to the draft board, there are only 29 fighters rated at 7 or above in this draft. There are 19 6-rated fighters available. Looks like I'm going to be researching for a good 6 at #40. That being said, a good 6-rated guy can be a valuable asset to any team. While my squad did not make the playoffs, the 6's did pile up good points totals for me:

FLY - Alberto Jimenez - 47 Points
WW - Mark Breland - 45 Points
FLY - Asawin Sordusit - 37 Points
BW - Tancy Lee - 29 Points
LHW - Billy Fox - 22.5 Points

They performed rather well compared to the highest-rated guys on my team:

MW - Artie Towne (8) - 40.5 Points
FW - Davey Moore (8) - 36.6 Points
HW - Lee Ramage (8) - 34 Points
FW - Eugene Crique (9) - 29.5 Points

My disappointments were Azteca and Hoye. Picking at 44 it is unlikely that I'll be able to replace them with anybody that is markedly better. If I was in love with either of the 7 rated LHWs in the waiver pool I'd have claimed them at the midway point of last season and gotten to up cap.

I've got a couple of 6's that do the job: Saverese, Lausse, and Sanchez.

I am open to offers regarding trading my first or second round #4 pick for picks from next year. It has been a busier than anticipated month or 2 for me, so PM me any offers.

The draft is officially underway.

The Toronto Tornados have the first pick. As soon as they make their selection today, the Coventry Hitmen will be on the clock and will have 12 hours to make a pick with the time starting after the Tornado's pick.

When it is your turn to make a pick, make it anytime you want within your alloted 12 hours.

There will be two links in the utbamod sig. to aid in drafting. The draft order will show you who has been selected next to the team names and and the draft pool will be updated ASAP to let you know who or what rating numbers are left available to be drafted.

Good luck to all and happy drafting.

Greg is still having computer problems. I also think he doesn't fully understand the drafting process yet. I'm currently working with him on this. Please be patient for the Tornados first pick.

Greg......
Briscoe is a 9 rated Middleweight. There are no 9 ratings in the middleweight class available in this draft.

You will need to make another selection.

Please remember that when you draft a rating, state the fighters name and what weight class that you are picking.

Also be sure and check the draft pool and make sure the rating number you want to draft is available.
