Beforehand Note: I would just like to state that i dont claim to have any idea how a properly organised universe should run and i am probably going to miss out a lot of rules that could be implemented, i really would like anybodys help on new rules to make my universe more organised as i have only the bare basics at the minute.

World Boxing Association Interim:

- WBA Interim bouts scheduled for 4, 3 minute rounds.

- All fighters begin with 0-0-0 Records.

- All fighters must begin with career stage Set to 'Beginning'.

- 4 bouts and fighters can move up to WBA Club.

World Boxing Association Club:

- WBA Club bouts scheduled for 8, 3 minute rounds.

- Fighters are automatically changed to 'Pre-Prime' career stage upon promotion to the 'WBA Club'.

- Fighters with records that consist of 5 more losses than there amount of Wins are relegated back down to WBA Interim and also are moved on to the next stage in their career. e.g. 'Prime' 'Post-Prime' etc.

- 15 Bouts and fighters can move up to WBA Contender.

World Boxing Association Contender:

-WBA Contender Bouts scheduled for 12, 3 minute rounds.

-Fighters are automatically moved to next career stage upon entering WBA Contender for the first time.

-Fighters with 10 more losses than there amount of wins are relegated back down to WBA Club and also are moved on to the next stage in their career. e.g. 'Prime' 'Post-Prime' etc.

-Fight for world title is based on WBA Rankings. Which will be updated regularly.

-Title fights take place on the last day of every month once a title has been won by a fighter.

-Title holders are introduced to WBA Hall of Fame once 10 World Title defences are made and won. Regardless of whether they are consecutive or not.

- World Title bouts take place over 15, 3 minute rounds.

- Challengers can not make another challenge in the same year should they lose a title fight.

Further expansion and different areas of this universe will be created in time, going to put proper fighter profiles up on a web page for people to look at and refer to when reading the forum version of my universe. Again, any tips would be helpful as i am a real newbie to this kind of thing.

Bobby Armstrong 4-0-1 (1) Vs. Steven Willard 1-3-2 (1)

Date: 1904-01-09

Location: L Street Boxing Auditorium, Canada.

Scheduled 8, 3 minute rounds.

Bobby Armstrong came into the ring as the hometown favourite and immediately went to work on a Steven Willard who has just come away from a defeat against other heavyweight big-shot Arthur 'The Blitz' Chambers. Bobby was able to put Willard down for the count in the very first round and Willard was given the 8 count but then continued to battle his way to finish the fight on a points decision, all in all a very easy fight for the rising heavyweight star Armstrong who comfortably beat his opponent on the night extending his record to 5-0-1 (1).

Final Scorecards: 79 - 71, 78 - 73, 78 - 72. UD in favour of Bobby Armstrong.

Adolph Lyons 0-1-1 (0) Vs. Marc Dubois 1-1-0 (0) - Lightweight

1904-01-16

Location: Royal Albert Hall, London, England

Scheduled 4, 3 minute round bout

This 4 round bout turned out to be a mismatch as both fighters kept each other at bay and clinched a lot even though it was only a 4 rounder, ringside unofficial scorecard read 10-10 round draws up until the fourth when it seemed that Adolph Lyons the german lightweight had edged it, however the decision was read out at the end of the bout and the scorecards read. 39 - 38, 39 - 38, 40 - 37. All to Marc Dubois on UD.

Just curious why you don't pad your fighters' records a bit?

First of all, welcome to this forum. You will see that the basement consists of some of the friendliest, easy going guys you will meet on a forum.

Check out one of the sticky threads in the mods section and you will find two threads on how you can set a universe up. Both Chris and Mike run large universes and they have set it up completely different. Both are very well "managed" and you will find a lot of help on starting a universe. With that said the most important thing is of course how you want to do it.

Good luck.

does that cover how to use tomato cans cause im completely lost on that concept lol do you use the same tomato can and let the fighter match up with that guy again and again long as he has a low rating?

I used the fighter generator to create a big amount of cans to fill my different groups with cannon fodder. Then I use the autoscheduler to set up fights between cans and "real" fighters in their beginning. My guys are strictly fed a tomato can diet for two years. I have them fighting around 10-15 times in the first two years. By the time they are about to step up in competition the better rated fighters have a somewhat realistic record.

Chris used to treat all fighter (even the cans) as "real" fighters while my can's only serve one purpose, record padding for better fighters. Check his setup out in the sticky.

I see Tommy already covered it. I'd use a group of 0 rated TCs as fodder for the beginners. The pre-primers sometimes get to fight some over the hill guys or guys from my advanced TC group which consists of fighters rated 1-3 (50% 1s, 30% 2s and 20% 3s). My TCs don't age and their careers are not tracked at all.

Cheers dude, to be honest i never really got going with this universe, and it was at a time when i had only just caught on to the whole universe thing.

Not only that, i find i falter when scheduling fights and making valid timelines, it makes most of my universes unrealistic and confusing for an outsider to believe in.
