Result:
Panama Al Brown (#6) TKO2 Guty Espadas (#38)
Tough luck on Guty. Espadas had his tournament cruelly ended when he was stopped on a cut in the second round. A left jab from Brown had opened a gash on Espadas right eyelid causing blood to flow down his face. Brown stabbed another jab to his eye which split it further giving the doctor at ringside an easy decision. Once again it appeared that Brown had taken the bout lightly. As he entered the ring it seemed that his condition was less than perfect. Next bout ..... |

Result:
Miguel Canto (#5) TKO9(Cuts) Zolani Petelo (#28)
Canto turned this into a mismatch. From the opening bell he peppered his opponent with jabs, crosses and hooks, Petelo had no answer. The writing was on the wall from the second round, Canto landed a sharp right cross which immediately drew blood over Petelo's left eyebrow. Canto targetted the injury for the next six rounds until after two inspection's the ringside doctor called the fight over. In truth the stoppage saved Petelo from futher damage. Next fight ......... |

Result:
Ricardo Lopez (#4) SD12 Betulio Gonzalez (#36)
The fight of the round! Lopez scrambled to victory in the best fight of the second round. It started badly for the Mexican, he endured a torrid time in the third round after being caught with a fuselage of right hands one of which opened a cut over his left eye. Lopez gained the ascendancy and broke up his opponents attacks with a stiff left jab and right cross. Going into the tenth round Lopez was a couple of points clear and looking good for the next round. Gonzalez had other ideas and halfway through the stanza exploded a right cross on to chin of Lopez. Lopez hit the deck but got to his feet too quickly and Gonazalez waded in to him, hammering home blows to both head and body, referee Hazzard must have been a whisker away from stopping the contest. Gonzalez carried on the good work in the eleventh, leaving everything to play for in the last. Lopez saved his best work until the twelfth round when he caught Gonzalez with a right hook which sent his foe to the ropes. The final round rally from Lopez was enough to secure a split decision points victory. Up next ....... |

Result:
Pascual Perez (#3) UD12 Percy Jones (#35)
A valiant effort from the Welsh underdog! Pascual Perez moved into the next round of the tournament courtesy of a hard won but unanimous points decision. The Argentinian fighter was the more defence minded of the two throughout the contest. By the end of the eighth round he had built a good points advantage by planting his jab into the face of the oncoming Welshman. The only knockdown of the fight came in the tenth when Jones walked into a right cross from Perez and was sent to the canvas. He dusted himself off and saw out the round but must have known he needed to stop Perez to gain the verdict. Jones went on the offensive and found his target with a couple of good right hooks but it was too late and Perez gained the victory. Next up ............... |

Result:
Jackie Jurich (#34) SD12 Pancho Villa (#2)
The number two seed is dumped out in front of his owns fans! Jurich produced the rounds biggest upset by outpointing Pancho Villa. Villa looked in awful shape as he entered the ring and paid a heavy toll. Jurich's game plan was simple, move and jab, and it worked. Villa was never able to pressurize his man and was apparently behind on the scorecards from the word go. The hometwown fighter was a spent token from the eighth round onwards and was unable to break into Jurich's gameplan. Next up .............. |

Result:
Jimmy Wilde (#1) KO4 Beibis Mendoza (#32)
Wilde gave the dangerous Mendoza a fearful beating! This fight was never going to last too long, but the near twelve minutes it did last belonged entirely to Jimmy Wilde. The number 1 seed hammered Mendoza from the opening bell until he was counted out halfway through the fourth round. Mendoza was down for the first time in the fight in the fourth after wearing a right hook from Wilde, no sooner had he got to his feet he was met with a right cross from Wilde which proved to be the last punch of the bout.
