Thanks a lot Romy.

That was the last fight card that "Too Tall" appears with Ray.

Soon you will see another great Heavyweight appear on several cards with Ray. Can't wait......in September 1980, Randy Stephens will become a constant travel companion of Boom Boom's.

Just a side question...

I've always felt that if it were not for the Deuk Koo Kim fight, Mancini would have defeated Bramble in their first fight. Obviously you cannot blame Ray for what happened to Kim...but do you think that it changed his fundamental approach in the ring? Not counting the Camacho and Haugen fights, I think that his ring career would have been much longer if not for the tragic result of the Deuk Koo Kim fight. I'd love to hear your opinion on this.

Mark

P.S... Keep up the fantastic job on this replay. I check every day to see if it's been updated.

I definitely think the result of the Kim fight changed the way Ray approached fighting in the ring. Ray lost some of his finishing instinct when he had a fighter hurt. Ray had Bramble hurt but wouldn't finish him in their first fight. I also feel that Ray's mind was not 100% on boxing after Kim. He was involving himself in acting looking for something else to do other than boxing. I agree that his career would've turned out differently if not for the Kim fight.

As for this replay, I've tweaked Ray's ratings a tad. TBCB rates retired fighters on their entire career (as they should) but I feel the last 8 years of Ray's career was not a true reflection of the fighter that he was or could be which caused the Trunzos to rate him a little low in my opinion. I think they should have 2 ratings for him in the game (1 pre Kim and 1 for post Kim).

The posts are a little slow here in the beginning. Lots of fighters to rate which takes time to create and test. As I get into the meat of Ray's career, things should start moving at a faster pace. Less fighters to rate.

I agree Ray was never the same fighter after the Kim fight. His killer instinct just wasn't there any longer.
