Nerd Tournaments

I've started I think 3 or 4 universes from the ground up and my whole goal was seedings for all time tournaments in each division. Since I just got my sim back, I decided to go through each division and select a certain amount of fighters, every fighter ranked 7 and higher plus some lower ones and just randomly match them against each other for a select amount of fights.

There will be a different number of fights and fighters per division and I'm sure it will take a while. But I figured I may as well do a brief recap of the divisions so I'll post the top 5 seeds and a small recap after I am done. I'm using the performance points for the rankings so i can fairly track guys that fight in multiple divisions.

I'm using all the titles, IBO is fighters 7 and under, WBO is 9 and under and the other 3 are for everyone. All the fighters are at Prime and I use the Hat program for the random fights.

Strawweight division has 48 fighters and they will have 20 fights.

1. Ivan Calderon (WBC) 19-1 (4)

Calderon lost a tight MD over 10 rounds to Ricardo Lopez in the fourth week in what is expected to produce a rematch in the finals of the tourney. He later won the WBC belt and had nine succesful defenses up until present. Decision wins over Zolani Petelo, Rodel Mayol & Yutaka Niida were his most notable victories.

2. Roman Gonzalez 18-1-1 (13)

Gonzalez was the first IBF champion and made seven defenses before an upset loss by seventh round TKO to Samuel Gutierrez. He later knocked out Gutierrez to gain a measure of revenge. The only other blemish was a draw with Hi-Yong Choi. He decisioned Mayol and stopped Muhammad Rachman

3. Ricardo Lopez 18-2 (11)

An early DQ loss to Junichiro kaneda in a fight he was dominating and a disputed decision loss to Kompayak Porpramook are all that kept Finito from a perfect record. He finally got a title shot in week 18 and stopped Kerman Guardia in three before finishing up with two defenses. He beat Calderon & choi twice by decision, plus a stoppage over ratanapol Sor Vorapin

4. Nkosinathai Joyi 15-4-1 (10)

He was able to win the WBA, WBO & IBF titles during the run but never had a successful defense. Two knock out wins over SorVorapin and two wins over Oleydong Sithsamerchai highlight his ledger.

5. Napa Kiatwanchai 15-3-2 (10)

The inagural IBO champion made five defenses and also beat ineligible fighters Sithsamerchai & Rachman along the way.

Other Titilists

WBA- Hi-Yong Choi 9-5-6 (2)
WBO- Muhammad Rachman 10-8-2 (1)
IBO- Carlos Melo 3-13-4 (2)

Jr Flyweight

Also 48 fighters participated but i lost Leo Gamez rated at Fly. So I have put him in the middle and 49 fighters will be in the tournament.

1. Jorge Arce 18-2 (9)

He was never got a title shot during the season and is a huge surprise as the top seed. A TKO loss to carbajal and a MD defeat to Yuh were his only blemishes. He didn't draw many of the big names, but he beat Sorjaturong twice as well as Luis Estaba, Edgar Sosa twice, Chana Porpaoin & Nelson Dieppa.

2. Michael Carbajal 18-2 (11)

Identical record, head to head win, beat better fighters and he is second? That's why we are taking it to a tournament. Michael won the WBA title in the opening week with a razor close SD over Ricardo Lopez in what was one of the best fights of the season. Luis Estaba highlighted his 8 defenses before he lost in a unification fight against Ivan Calderon. He lost another SD to Rosendo Alvarez for his other loss and beat Arce by TKO and a clear decision over Jung Koo Chang.

3. Yoko Gushiken 16-4 (9)

Yoko lost a tight decision to Hilario Zapata early, but he later avenged it with a thrilling last round knockout to win the IBF title. He lost on cuts to Ivan Calderon in his first defense. Fierce eagle racked up wins against Yuh, Alvarez, Beibis Mendoza & Hugo Cazares. He did however lose twice to Saman Sorjaturong, so that isn't an ideal match up for the tournament.

4. Hilario Zapata 14-3-3 (2)

As was mentioned he split two fights with Gushiken. Before that he won the IBF title from Chana Porpaoin and made 3 defenses, including a win and a draw against Jung Koo Chang. He also beat Sorjaturong and Vasquez twice as well as drawing with Ivan calderon and losing a tight one to Ricardo Lopez.

5. Ricardo Lopez 17-3 (4), overall 35-5 (15)

Finito seemed to leave a lot of his power at Strawweight, but he still got the job done. He beat Alvarez, Zapata & humberto gonzalez among others while barely losing to Carbajal in his only title shot.

Current Champions

IBO- Vuyani Nene 13-6 (5)
WBO- Muvhuso Nedzanani 10-8-2 (9)
WBA & IBF- Hugo Cazares 11-8-1 (7)
WBC- Brian Viloria 7-11-2 (2)

There are 96 Flyweights

1. Jimmy Wilde 18-1-1 (17)

After an early destruction of Koki Kameda and a dominant 13th round TKO of Pancho Villa, Wilde captured the IBF title with a fourteenth round stoppage of Midget Wolgast. After two routine defenses, Jimmy lost his belt in a disputed fifteen round split decision to Villa. Wilde didn't get another title shot, but a draw with benny Lynch withstanding he destroyed all opposition.

2. Mark Johnson 17-0-3 (12), WBA & WBC Champion

After an opening draw with Elky Clark, Too Sharp cruised until he destroyed Hernan Marquez for the unified titles in week seven. What followed was thirteen defenses highlighted by two wins over Fidel Labarba, a stoppage win over Masao Ohba & a draw with Sot Chitalada.

3. Santos Laciar 16-2-2 (5), IBF Champion

Santos captured the WBC strap in the opening week with a wide decision over Takefumi Sakata. After one defense he lost via TKO to Lorenzo Parra on cuts. Wins over Yuri Arbachakov, Frankie Genaro & Horacio Accavallo followed. Late in the season Santos grabbed the IBF belt over Elky Clark and defended it against Miguel Canto.

4. Panama Al Brown 17-2-1 (7)

Brown scored early stoppages over Newsboy Brown and Hilario Zapata as well as avenging his initial loss with a KO win over Koki Kameda. A split decision loss to Ramon Arias preceeded 10 straight wins until a draw in the rubber match with kameda closed the season.

5. Pascual Perez 16-3-1 (10)

Perez got off to a rough start with a draw against Miguel Canto and a stuning upset loss to Carlos Murillo. From thereafter he ran off consecutive decision wins over accavallo, Guty Espadas, Fighting harada & Pancho Villa. After that he continued to excel except for an inability to handle Arbachokov who beat him twice.

Percy Jones 9-10-1 (3)- WBO champion
Pone Kingpetch 7-12-1- IBO Champion

61 fighters as I missed Danny Romero up at Jr Feather

1. Khaosai Galaxy 18-0-2 (16)

He won his first twelve fights including stoppage victories over Vic Darchinyan, Santos Laciar, Fernando Montiel & Gerry Penalosa. He then fought a shocking draw against In-joo Cho in what would prove to be his only title shot. Katsuya Onizuka & Mark Johnson were both stopped with only another draw with Masonari takuyama being a blemish.

2. Jiro Watanabe 19-1 (8)

Jiro started with two wins over Too Sharp. Soon thereafter he took the IBF title with a split decision over Mark Johnson. He made eleven defenses including wins over Kid Akeem, Alexander Munoz and yet another SD over Mark, 3 out of 4 wins, until he was overwhelmed by Fernando Montiel in a second round battering. He did not lose again and closed with decision wins over Robert Quiroga & Cristian Mijares.

3. Satoshi Iida 15-2-3 (2)

The most surprising high seed yet by a large margin. Iida did not draw the toughest schedule but he managed wins over Hugo Cazares, Sugar Baby Rojas & Gustave Ballas twice while only losing to Cho & Sung-Kil Moon.

4. Martin Castillo 14-4-2 (3)

After losing three in a row early to Hiroshi Kawashima, Johnny Tapia & Moon. Castillo captured the WBC title with a win over Samson Dutch Boy Gym. He defended the title ten times with wins over Nonito Donaire and Johnson as well as a draw with Laciar before losing the belt via disputed SD to Tae II Chang. He then closed the campaign with a win over Sugar Baby Rojas.

5. Hugo Cazares 16-3-1 (11), overall 27-11-2 (18)

After opening with losses to Gilberto Roman & Iida, Cazares went on a tear knocking out Ballas, Katsuhige Kawashima, Donaire & Munoz along the way. He also drew in a title fight with Leo gamez.

Current Champions

WBA- Gerry Penalosa 10-9-1 (3)

144 fighters

1. Eder Jofre 20-0 (12)

The first guy to come through completely unblemeished. He didn't face anyone else in the top 5 but he decisioned George Dixon and stopped Joseph Agbeko, Alberto davila & Charles LeDoux. Joe Lynch & Gaby Canizales failed to last a round as Eder rolled through his fights without seriously being threatened.

2. Rafael Marquez 18-0-2 (13)

Draws with Memphis Pal Moore in week 2 & Manuel Ortiz in week 3 were the only blemishes for Rafa. They were the biggest names he faced and wins over Bushy Graham & David Kui Kong Young were the most notable.

3. Pete Herman 18-2 (2)

Pete took an early decision over Agustin Senin before dropping one to Jose Medel. After decisioning Fighting Harada in a tight contest Herman breezed to the WBA title with a UD over Nana Konadu. He defended it twice over Terry McGovern & johnny Coulon before McGovern took the title in a rematch with a fourteenth rd TKO. Pete ended the campaign with a stoppage on cuts over Owen Moran.

4. Carlos Zarate 18-2 (14)

Zarate was upset in week 2 by Jose Becerra in a vicious shootout. He then won fifteen straight including a decision over Happy Lora and stoppages of Jimmy carruthers, Johnny coulon, mark Johnson & a 1st round blitzing of Fernando montiel. Franco Zurlo stopped Carlos on cuts in a tremendous upset before Zarate ended with a one round blow out of Raul Perez and a dec over Sung Kil Moon

5. Ruben Olivares 16-2-2 (14)

Early wins over Hozumi Hasegawa, Tim Austin & Johnny Tapia had Rockabye Ruben on a roll before a draw and SD loss to Abe Goldstein. He rebounded to stop Lupe Pintor in a wild shootout before dropping a rematch to Austin to close out his 20 fights.

60 fighters

1. Manny Pacquiao 19-1 (14)

Pac opened up with a grueling and incredibly tight decision win over erik Morales. Both men were down once and the crowd was filled with erections. After beating Mike Ayala & Kennedy McKinney among others Manny starched Bernard Dunne in one round to win the WBA title. He made six defenses over the likes of Jeff Fenech, Celestino Caballero, Junior Jones & Israel Vazquez before losing his belt on cuts to Victor callejas.

2. Erik Morales 18-1-1 (10)

Old ironsides, the man of the hour, the place to be. Yeah, he is bad. After a loss to Pac that erik attributed to the lack of a death clause in the contract he drew with jaime Garza before wins over Carlos Zarate, Mckinney, Paulie Ayala & poonsawat Krattingdaenggym ended the session in his usual superhero manner with 18 straight wins

3. Marco Antonio Barrera 16-2-2 (11)

Marco dropped a decision to Jeff Fenech in the opening week in a vicious brawl. After a draw with paulie Ayala, Marco destroyed Sergio Palma to win the WBC title. He made 14 defenses against the likes of Caballero, Guillermo Rigondeaux, Jeff Fenech, Kennedy Mckinney & a unification against IBF champion Loris Stecca before getting starched by Rafael Marquez in four rounds. Marco ended the session with a KO win over Joan Guzman and a repeat victory over Caballero.

4. Pauie Ayala 33-6-1 (4)

A draw with Barrera & losses to Morales & Bernard Dunne were the only blemishes in a shocking run for Ayala. He decisioned Izzy, Bones Adams x2, McKinney, Poon & Ponce Deleon

5. Wilfredo Gomez 17-3 (11)

The favorite heading into the round robin, he had major issues with Israel Vazquez as he was stopped twice by Izzy. A loss on cuts to Rigondeaux was the only other blemish on a ledger that saw Bazooka beat Oscar Larios x2, Sergio palma x2, Mike Ayala & Junior Jones.

Current Champions

144 Fighters

1. Hank Armstrong 19-1 (16)

After stoppage wins over Young Griffo, Yuriorkis Gamboa & Tommy Paul..Hank squared off against Salvador Sanchez in a battle of unbeaten fighters. Hank fell just short, losing a tight decision in a vicious battle. He wouldn't lose again scoring KO's of Battling Battalino, Chalky Wright, Sugar ramos(1rd), Alexis Arguello and destroying Sanchez in a rematch in 6 rounds.

2. Azumah Nelson 19-1 (12)

Nelson won the IBF title in the opening week with a tenth round KO of Patrick Ford. He made twelve defenses including decisions over Griffo and Ernesto Marcel . His most impressive defense was probably the first round KO over Ruben Olivares. Neslon then faced Manny Pacquiao in a unification fight and after both men hit the deck early Nelson fell short late via tenth round KO.He rebounded with a stoppage of Terry mcGovern.

3. Kid Chocolate 17-0-3 (7)

Draws with Mike Dundee, Naseem Hamed & Johnny Famechon were the only blemished on the great Cubans record. He didn't meet the greatest schedule of opponents but decision wins over Juan Manuel Marquez, Eder Jofre & eusebio Pedroza more than earned his ranking.

4. Willie Pep 18-2 (2)

After four routine wins, Pep was stopped on cuts by Marquez and then lost a clear decision to battalino. From that point on Willie was untouchable and he reeled off 14 in a row against the likes of Louis Kaplan, Eugene Criqui & Chalky Wright.

5. Sandy Saddler 17-3 (17)

Saddler lost a major clash with Abe Attell and was upset by Juan Manuel Lopez & Barry McGuigan. Nobody else saw the final bell including Eusebio pedroza in one of the greatest fights I have ever simmed, both men were down 3 times before saddler finished him in eight. Erik Morales & Jeff Fenech were also stopped late after violent brawls.

Current Champions

WBC- Vicente Saldivar(12) 18-2 (15)

I just resorted to the games rankings instead of tracking the PP. The PP's are actually adverse to moving up a division, so it's whatever. The whole point was seedings I didn't do myself.

1. Alexis Arguello (WBC) 35-5 (26)

Alexis opened up by winning the IBF title with a stoppage over Rocky Lockridge. In the second week Arguello lost by a sixth round TKO on cuts to Azumah Nelson in a unification fight. That would be Arguello's last loss and he stopped Sandy Saddler, Alfredo escalera, Bobby Chacon & Benny Bass before winning the WBC title with an eighth round TKO over Bazooka Limon. He made 7 defenses including a violent KO of Hector camacho.

2. Sandy Saddler 34-5-1 (31)

Sandy was stopped by Arguello and knocked out later by Diego Corrales in what was a savage war and a ridiculous comeback. Edwin valero was devastated in one round. Sandy didn't fight for any titles here but he was able to stop Manny Pacquiao, Sammy Serrano, Bass & Limon.

3. Floyd Mayweather, Jr. (WBA & IBF) 19-1 (9)

Other than a later avenged TKO loss on cuts to Jorge barrios, Money was as perfect as he likes to think he is. Mayweather decisioned Pacquiao, in an excellent scrap over twelve rounds, Tod Morgan, Tyrone Everett and Valero while stopping Joan Guzman before he shockingly knocking out long time WBA & IBF champion Azumah nelson. Mayweather finished with 3 nondescript defenses.

4. Julio Cesar Chavez 18-2 (14)

The upset bug bit Chavez when he lost a split decision to Brian Mitchell & a loss on cuts to Robbie Peden. Other than that he was perfect. He decisioned Pacquiao & Morgan while scoring stoppages over Marco Antonio Barrera, Lockridge, Arturo gatti & Roberto garcia.

5. Azumah Nelson 36-3-1 (27)

Zzumah won the WBA title with a stoppage of Jesus Chavez in the opening week before unifying with his win over arguello. He made fourteen defenses with stoppage wins over Chacon, Mitchell, Morgan, Lockridge and a first round KO over Frankie Klick while being held to a draw by Serrano before losing to PBF. Zumah was upset by tyrone Everett via 3rd round KO before edging Joel Casamayor to close out.

Current Chamopions

WBO- Juan Laporte(15) 21-16-3 (10)
IBO- Hiroshi Kobayashi (27) 6-8-6 (1)

Since Lee showed me how to use the auto scheduler to sort the fighters I decided to use everyone I have in my data base for these tournaments and use the same 20 fight format for the seedings and use the games bizarre rankings. The summaries were actually quite good. Part of what helps folks understand how fighters get to where they are.
