The Alphabet Soup Universe

THE ALPHABET SOUP UNIVERSE

I started an Universe with mixed eras fighters and random selection of the year of each fighter entrance.

The Universe will have only four (fantasy) divisions.
• HW: more than 176 lbs
• MW: 160 to 176 lbs.
• WW: 135 to 160 lbs
• FW : Less than 135 lbs.

The roster will have 800 boxers (200 for each division) and around 230 stiffs (1 and 2 rated real boxers) that only participate to made the main boxers records.

Aging (manually controled)
• Beginner : 10 fights.
• Pre Prime 12-15 fights.
• Prime: 18-40 fights
• Post Prime: 5-20 fights.
• End: 5-15 fights.

So neither with lees than 50 fights and neither with more than 100 fights.

Boxer inclusion: Random selection around 20% of the roster on the first year and 8% for the each following 10 years, no more new boxers from the year number twelve to the finish of the universe.

The Universe start on January of 1990 and the first champion is expected for 1993. Diferent boxings organizations will be appearing across the time.

The boxers will need 20 fights to be rank on “serious” organizations.

Cleveland Williams LKO1 Troy Weida.
Weida took a cold Williams with a terrible right hook and put him to sleep for the whole 10 count.

02-10-1990 Rancho Mirage, Ca.
Larry Holmes LUD6 Charley Powell
This was the greatest upset on the Heavyweight division on this year becouse Larry Holmes is expected to be World Champion in the future.
The fight began with Holmes dominated the action on the first to rounds, but the things change on the third with Powell conecting his best punchs.
But the big surprise will come on the fourth when a big lead hook put Holmes into the canvas, Larry beat the count but lost the round clearly.
The final rounds was very even and dificult to rate. My scorecard was 58-56 to Powell and the official scorecards were 57-56 ; 58-55 ; 57-56 all for the winner Charley Powell.

Holmes finish the 1990 year with a global record of 7-1-0 (3).

Little Change in Aging

Aging (manually controled)
• Beginner : 10 fights.
• Pre Prime 10-15 fights.
• Prime: 20-40 fights
• Post Prime: 5-20 fights.
• End: 5-15 fights.

Note about the Universe: The first 2 years on the life of fighters in the Universe is only for warm-up. They only face 1 rated opponents on the first year and 2 rated opponents on the second year and i use the scheduler to make the fights.
This two years are only to have positive records.
The real action will come in the third year of the boxer in the Universe where the real fight cards will begin.

1992-01-19
Saltillo, Mexico – Welterweights Action.

Mugabi Ko´s Santos in a real war!

John “the beast” Mugabi visited the hell and returned to life on his last night fight with Daniel Santos.
Mugabi won the first round but then Santos took the control of the fight winning the second and third round and flooring Mugabi on the fourth with a lighting combination. “The beast “only got up at nine and then only covered-up to survive the round.
On the fifth Mugabi put his heart on the bout and started to punish a surprised Santos and near the end of the round connected a smashing cross to the chin. Santos was on his feet but very confused and the referee Mike Ortega decided to stop the fight.

On the other two fights of the night Tony Ayala and Thomas Damgaard were too much for their rivals. The danish outboxed Francisco Bojado for ten rounds (flooring Bojado on the eight)

On the co-feature fight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez won a TKO5 over spanish Javier Castillejo. Alvarez dropped Castillejo in the fourth and then produced a cut over the right eye of Castillejo on the fifth forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Ricky Hatton scored a big win over Quartey!

Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton climbed from the canvas on the first round to scored a brillant unanimous decision over Ghanaian top fighter Ike “Bazooka” Quartey. The african dropped Hatton 20 seconds on the first with a vicious cross. Hatton beat the count with difficult and tried to survive the rest of the round, but after that he recovered and won the majority of the remaining rounds. The scorecards was 97-92 95-94 and 96-93.
On the other top fight of the night Miguel Angel Cotto was too much for african David Kamau. Cotto punished Kamau for three round and put him KO on the fourth with a lighting left-right-left salvo.
On other very competitive match Junior Witter scored a slim unanimous decision win (94-93 x3) over Carlos “El Indio” Quintana. After four rounds of boxing the fight was very even, two rounds for each other , but on the fifth Quintana took the first advantage when the referee took a point from Witter due to repeated low blows. But Junior was still on the match and he dropped Quintana with a thudding shot under his ribcage on the eight round.
At this point the fight was even again. Quintana took the ninth in all scorecards so Witter needed something great to win the fight and that was exactly what he did. Witter floored Quintana with a clean combination and took the last round 10-8 on all the scorecards to secure his victory.
