Random Chaos Boxing - 2015

Always has been my favorite style of universe dating back to the original RCB 2007.

  • Original 8 weight classes only, all junior class fighters moved up
  • Each year 10 random fighters selected by spreadsheet will debut from across boxing history
  • Aging set to have careers from 30 to 130 bouts
  • Two world titles WBA and WBC
  • World group includes the top 35 in each class
  • Club group all other fighters at prime or pre-prime
  • Rookie group where all fighters stay until they hit pre-prime
  • Fighters with a losing record at when they hit prime automatically retire
  • At the end of each year the bottom 10 in each weight class are relegated to club, while the top 10 at the club level in each weight class move up to the world group
  • Starts January 1st 2015, 5 year history simmed

Saturday, January 03, 2015WBA Heavyweight Title
Francesco Damiani 21-0-1 (16) ©VSEarnie Shavers 18-1-0 (17)
Damiani defends against the dangerous Shavers, whose only loss was a stunning 4th round stoppage to Paul Simonetti in 2013, Damiani does not shy away from going toe to toe with the hard hitting challenger and outslugs him over the first two frames, but a looping right drops the champion in the third and by the round both his eyes are swelling. The tide has now turned and after a dominant 4th round, Shavers puts Damiani on his back again in the 5th with a violent combination. The Italian gamely struggles to rise, but Shavers is all over and referee Lou Moret steps in after a wicked right drives Damiani awkwardly into the ropes

Bushy Graham 19-1-0 (8) ©VSBilly Plimmer 19-1-1 (11)
A well received clash between two polished boxers, with Graham regarded as one of the better defensive fighters in the division, but Plimmer is able to crack that defense frequently in the early rounds using speed and is by far the busier.Graham resorts to holding and while effective, Plimmer continues to land the greater volume of blows every time they open up and trade from distance, with a right hand putting Graham on the seat of his pants in the 8th for a 2 count.Plimmer bloodies Grahams nose in the 11th, which seems to energize the champion who then stages a furious rally, sweeping the final rounds and making it close at the end!

Notes from the Promoter

Tony Galento has started a boisterous media campaign, holding a press conference at his favorite watering hole, calling Luther McCarty a bum and daring the WBC king to meet him in the ring, or the alley behind Sauls Bar

Joe Choynski has been promised a title shot is the winner of the upcoming Young Stribling / Bob Murphy bout if he gets past Scott Pemberton next week

Negotiations are reportedly already underway to put together a Bushy Graham / Billy Plimmer rematch by early summer

Sam Langford, a young sensation from Canada currently on the rookie circuit is being touted as a future contender in the LHW division as he currently holds a record of 6-0-0 (5) and has exhibited tremendoud clout in his fledgling career

Saturday, January 10, 2015WBA Featherweight Title
Glen Flanagan 19-0-1 (4) ©VSChalky Wright 22-0-0 (17)
Wright is referred to as the uncrowned champion in many circles and after a slow start he peppers Flanagan with precise combinations in rounds two through six, building a lead, but being unable to rattle the tough as nails champion.Fortunes turn in the 8th when a cut is opened over Wrights right eye, but it is rules to have come from an unintentional butt.Wright goes into a shell as the cut is reopened in the 9th and 12th, a round which also sees a cut opened over Flanagan's right eye leaving both men pouring blood.Flanagans cut is reopened in the 13th, but Wrights is still far worse and it leads to a stoppage in the 14th, meaning we go to the cards

Rocky Graziano 29-0-1 (26) ©VSMiguel DeOliveira 17-0-0 (12)
The Rock looks to become the first to 30 wins and as is usually the case finds himself in a brawl from the get go as his right eye is swelling in the 2nd, before he comes back and punishes DeOliveira in the 3rd. Graziano is the slower and often pays in the toe to toe exchanges, but lands a wild overhand right that floors DeOliveira in the 7th and a one sided 8th, with the challanger now sporting a shiner as well. The war continues into the 12th, as Graziano suffers a cut over his right eye, then storms back to deck DeOliveira again in the 13th as the crowd is cheers the champ on, then erupts as Graziano scores his 3rd knockdown in the 15th, which ends the fight

Carmen Basilio 21-0-0 (14) ©VSYoung Jack Thompson 21-0-1 (14) ©
The first title unification match in RCB history starts slow, but the 2nd round is non-stop toe to toe action that is too close to call.Thompson surges ahead in the 4th and 5th rounds, then slices Basilio's brow in the 6th, which is common for Carmen, but this time it is bad. With the blood flowing profusely, Basilio fights on gamely and takes the fight to Thompson at times, but is hampered by not only the cut but severe swelling and when then the referee finally intervenes in the last round the eye is a complete mess.Above the protests of both Basilio and the crowd, the fight is stopped with only 59 seconds remaining and Thompson up slightly on 2 of 3 cards

Irene Pacheco 21-0-0 (14) ©VSJohnny Hill 20-1-0 (16)
The little guys are set to put on a big show as Pacheco sprint from his corner and rocks the challenger in the 1st round, the battering continues into the 3rd as Hill takes a 9 count after being drilled by a right and looks to be in big trouble.Hill recovers his senses, but Pacheco is relentless and the 6th round is an epic back and forth war that sees both fighters land at will, and as the 7th ends Pacheco is bleeding from a cut over his badly swollen right eye.Hill is like a shark now, pouring it on and Pacheco begins to fade in the latter rounds, suffering cuts around his mouth as Hill completes an amazing comeback that has the crowd in awe as the judges decide it

Think the Featherweights are going to have some good fights. Looking forward to seeing who comes out on top - hopefully either Kid Chocolate or Chalky Wright.

Bob Murphy 21-0-0 (17) ©VSYoung Stribling 21-0-1 (19)
Close through the early rounds with lots of action in the 2nd and 3rd, Stribling showed better defensively, but with the punches coming in bunches Murphy was still able to land his share of blows.Murphy began to find his range in the 6th and Stribling's right eye began swelling, but the 'King of the Canebakes' began to land his right with authority and scored the first huge punch of the fight in the 8th, sending Murphy down with a crisp uppercut.Rounds 11 through 13 went to Murphy, who by now was sporting a shiner of his own around his left eye, but Stribling landed more in the final two rounds as the bout goes to the judges

Jimmy Carruthers 18-3-0 (9)VSAnselmo Moreno 18-3-0 (6)
Title ramifications are on the line were and home field advantage pays off early for Carruthers as Moreno appears sluggish out of the gate and tastes the canvas in round 2, courtesy of whistling right hand to the chin.Carruthers backs off and Moreno starts to get into rythym holding his own over the next four cantos and making a strong case for winning 3, but Carruthers has a huge round in the 7th and another in the 9th, leaving Moreno with a mouse on the left eye. Both come out swinging in the final frame, but Carruthers is able to stun Moreno and takes advantage landing multiple blows as the latter tries to clear his head, which he does, finishing the fight on his feet

Luis Fredrico Thompson 20-0-0 (14) ©VSAlfredo Marcano 18-3-1 (9)
A war of attrition as both men came out of their corners swinging from the opening bell, with the iron jawed Thompson absorbing everything Marcano could throw through 6 rounds. In the 7th the pace began to wear on Marcano as the champion opened a cut over his left eye, which was also swelling by the end of the round.Marcano fought on gamely and was able to make the 10th and 11th rounds close, before Thompson once again stepped up the pressure, battering Marcano, who had nothing left in his tank for the championship rounds.Despite being reduced to a bloody mess by Thompson's relentless attack, Marcano never went down, earning the respect of the crowd

© Tommy Loughran 26-0-1 (11)VS#5 Bert Lytell 20-2-0 (10)
In front of a wildly partisan crowd, Tommy Loughran, regarded by many as one of the best pure boxers in the game put on a clinic for the forst 4 rounds, landing crisp combinations, countering effectively and showing an inate instinct for slipping punches.Lytell was able to work inside and carry the 5th, then draw Loughran into a slugging match in the 7th as it looked like he may be able to make it a fight. At the beginning of the 8th however, Lytell bounced a hard right hand off of the top of Loughran's head and immediately turned his back in pain.Upon examination it was determined Lytell had broken his wrist and it was over that quickly.

#1 Tony Galento 20-1-0 (14)VS#3 Axel Schulz 15-0-0 (4)
After a card full of decisions, the rabid German crowd was ready for some fireworks, but the early rounds showed little promise, with Galento flailing away wildly and Schulz cautiously jabbing and grabbing if Two Ton Tony got too close, though Galento did momentarily rock the big German in the 4th.With Galento looking to be tiring after a strong 5th from Schulz, he turned it on in the 6th in a final blaze of glory and Axel was happy to oblige, going blow for blow in a scintillating round.Schulz controlled the 7th, but Galento, despite fatigue came back strong in the next two rounds, with the final frame reduced to mainly holding as both men were shot, once again to the judges.
Tony Galento SD 10 Axel Schulz (94-97, 96-94, 96-94) - Earns mandatory title shot
