Title Fight

FW - Johnny Kilbane (1/1) (24-3-2) couldn't close the door on Solly Smith (3/2) (27-17-4) and their fight ended in a DRAW15. The will go again in November for the vacant IBF FW title.

Kilbane dropped Smith in the third and controlled the fight through the midway point. Smith finished strong to get the draw.

I had it 143-142 Kilbane, while the official judges had it 143-142/142-143/143-143.

Title Tourney

LHW - Leo Houck (8/5) (30-12-3) scored a UD12 over Frank Girton (4/6) (15-3) to advance to the second round of the WBA LHW title tourney. He will take on Fred Russell in November.

Houck controlled the fight and other than being cut under the left eye in the 5th there was no excitement in this bout. I had it 116-112, while the official judges saw it 115-113/116-112/115-113.

Title Fights

FW - Cal McCarthy (CH) (25-6) has an easy time scoring a TKO10 over Billy Snailham (10/18) (22-8) for his second defense of the WBC FW title.

McCarthy dropped Snailham in the 6th and the 10th and won every round of the fight. I had it 90-81 at the stoppage.


LW - An accidental head but ended the fight between Kid Fredericks (15/15) (17-1-2) and Knockout Brown (11/11) (18-1-1). They went to the scorecards in the 6th round and the fight ended in a Tech. Draw.

Fredericks was down in the first but worked his way back. Brown was cut in the 4th and it reopened in the 5th and the 6th. I had it 47-47 as did two judges, the third had Fredericks up 48-47.

There will be a rematch in November.

He pretty much is in my uni also but I consider TC's the made up guys. All real fighters get the opportunity to participate in my uni. He has gone 6-5-4 against mainly TC's so he will not do well.
