Harris Pulls Off Stunning Upset
January 5th, 1907
#8 Morris Harris (6-6) scored a stunning KO4 over champ Joe Choynski (20-8-1) to win the LBA Lightheavyweight Championship. Many came to the fight feeling Harris didn't deserve a shot at the title. He qualified by being ranked in the top ten and having won his last fight. As a matter of fact he had won his last 3. Harris took the fight to Choynski from the opening bell, winning the first round. Choynski bounced back to take the second and the third but Harris was still clearly the aggressor. Choynski caught Harris early in round 4 and opened a cut under Harris's left eye. Harris then caught Choynski with a vicious left hook dropping the champ for a ten count. The ref could've counted to 30 he wasn't getting up. On the undercard MW - Charles McCoy (16-7-3) UD12 Mike Donovan (18-12-2) (12 round bout, both fighters in the top ten) WW- George Cole (5-5) MD10 Buddy Ryan (5-9) WW - Dixie Kid (13-8-5) SD12 Al Neill (3-7-1) (12 round bout, both fighters in the top ten) LW - George McFadden (8-2-1) KO5 Jimmy Carroll (11-10-3) HW - Charles Hadley (14-10-2) UD10 Steve Taylor (9-14) (Taylor drops to the club ranks) |

Creedon Destroys Butler Takes Title
January 15th, 1907
#2 Dan Creedon (18-8) scored a TKO1 over champ Joe Butler (21-5-1) to win the LBC Middleweight title. Creedon jumped on Butler from the opening bell. The ref gave Creedon a warning for a low blow, then Creedon landed two straight uppercuts to drop Butler. Butler got up only to be dropped again by a mean right hook. Butler beat the count but the ref stopped the fight. On the undercard WW - Honey Mellody (10-10) UD10 Dal Hawkins (7-4-1) FW - Jack Downey (1-0) UD10 Billy Snailham (0-1) HW - Dominic McCaffrey (16-7-3) KO1 John Knifton (14-13) LW - Jewey Cooke (8-3-1) UD10 Sam Bolen (4-8-1) BW - Dennis McFadden (5-7-1) UD10 Ike Weir (1-5) |

Mcauliffe Finally Wins Title
January 20th, 1907
#5 Jack McAuliffe (22-4-2) scored a KO4 over #1 Battling Nelson (13-12) to the vacant LBA Lightweight championship. McAuliffe was too much for Nelson right from the opening bell. Winning round 1 and 3 easilly and round 2 was too close to call. McAuliffe was cut over his right eye in the 3rd and his corner failed to close the cut in the corner. You could feel a sense of urgency in Jack starting the 4th and he moved in and caught Nelson with an uppercut that ended the fight. On the undercard LW - Jem Carney (15-10) UD10 Jack Blackburn (16-7-3) BW - Watty Austin (7-6-1) TKO10 Joe Bowker (11-15-7) MW - Billy McCarthy (16-7-3) TKO3 Paddy Duffy (8-12-3) (Duffy stepped up to MW for this loss) FW - Benny Solomon (1-0) TKO8 Tommy Connelly (0-1) HW - William Miller (10-11-3) DRAW10 Marvin Hart (11-10-3) |

Disaster Strikes Herrera, Ko'd In 2nd
January 25, 1907
#1 Abe Attell (26-5-1) scored a 2nd round KO of #2 Aurelio Herrera (10-4) to win the newly formed LBC Featherweight crown. Herrera stormed Attell in the first repeatedly hurting Attell with bombs. With the success in the first round, Herrera's corner told him that he had the fight and to go for the KO in the second. Herrera listened and let it all out landing two bombs right out of the corner, but he got careless and got hit with a left hook flush on the jaw and his night was over. Herrera after the fight said he never saw the punch that hit him. The punch that an entire country felt. No title for Mexico. On the undercard FW - Young Griffo (22-4-3) UD10 Tommy Doherty (0-1) (Doherty stepped up to FW for this non-title bout) HW - Charley Mitchell(20-6) KO4 Herbert Slade (10-12-1) LW - Harry Gilmore (18-10) UD10 Austin Gibbons (10-15-2) (Gibbons drops to the club ranks with this loss) FW - Clarence Forbes (9-6) TKO1 Leo Dobbins (0-1) LHW - John Flood (3-6-1) UD10 Al Kaufman (3-7) |

January 30, 1907
#1 Owen Moran (18-3-3) scored a KO5 over #2 Johnny Coulon (11-1) winning the newly formed LBC Bantamweight title and sending Coulon to his first loss. Moran wasted no time dropping him for good to open the fifth.
