November Title fights
Pretty lame month with only 3 champions scheduled to fight and one is a non-title fight.
WW - (LBA) Charley Hitte (9-6) vs. #4 Dixie Kid (14-10-5) FW - (LBC) Abe Attell (28-5-1) vs #9 Solly Smith (13-14-3) (unfortunately without many FW in the main division right now, Smith was the only qualified candidate. He is post prime but is in the top 10 and won his last fight) Also WW LBC Champ Peter Jackson (13-3) will have his hands full in a non-title bout with LW Billy Myer (21-4-3). Myer has been promised a rematch for the WW title if he wins this bout. |

Solly Smith shocks the FW divison with stunning upset of Abe Attell
November 18, 1907
#9 Solly Smith (14-14-3) scored a UD15 over Champ Abe Attell (28-6-1). That's right a UD, no fluke cut or lucky KO. Solly Smith set the tone of the fight by dropping Attell one minute into the fight. Attell went into boxing mode which has won him fights against sluggers such as Herrera and won the next 3 rounds. Smith then repeatedly hurt Attell in the 5th. Attell came out carrying his hands low for the 6th and still bleeding from his nose, which was cut in the 3rd. Attell controlled the 6th, swelling up Smith's right eye. Attell also won the 7th. The fighter split the 8th and 9th. Smith rocked Attell again in the 10th, pounding away on the ropes most of the round. Attell's left eye began to swell. Attell won the 12th round but lost the 11th, 13th and 14th. Trailing going into the 15th, Attell pressed Smith and paid the price. The stronger Smith dropped Attell twice in the 15th sealing the decision. I had it 143-139 as did Mark Moe ringside. The official judges had it 143-138/143-138/144-137. Smith will go back to prime until he loses the championship. On the undercard HW - Joe Goss (13-2-2) DRAW10 Frank Childs (15-13-4) HW - Ed Martin (14-12) UD10 Dan Dwyer (12-14) (Dwyer stepped up to HW for this loss) MW - Jack Nelson (6-0) KO6 Dick O'Brien (3-11-1) (Nelson fought at pp for this club fight) BW - Cockney Cohen (5-1-2) DRAW10 Harry Ware (4-10-1) (Cohen fought at pp for this club fight) MW - George Fulijames (14-14) TKO8 Tommy Chandler (12-17-2) (Fulijames moves back to the main division with the club fight win) |

Hitte dominates Kid in first title defense
November 23, 1907
Charley Hitte (10-6) scored a KO5 over #4 Dixie Kid (14-11-5) to win his first defense of his LBA Welterweight title. Hitte jumped on Kid from the opening bell, dropping the challenger in the first. Kid's right eye started swelling almost immediately. Hitte pounded away for the next 3 rounds and then dropped Kid for good in the 5th. On the undercard LW - Jack Daly (8-1-1) MD10 Mike Daly (11-16-2) HW - Bob Armstrong (21-9-3) DRAW10 Billy Smith (16-9-1) WW - Terry Martin (8-0) UD8 Jack Willis (7-4) (both fighters at pp for this club fight, Martin moves to the main division with the win) LW - Young Otto (5-13-2) TKO4 George Monroe (4-4) (Monroe fought at pp for this club fight) LW - Jimmy Mitchell (11-19-1) UD10 Mike Cushing (7-17-4) |

Just a quick note to say that next Tuesday April 5th, will be one year since I started this universe ... it is easily the longest I have stuck with anyone team or franchise in any text sim game.
Those of you who follow along, thank you for keeping it fun for me. Also to the Trunzo's and Andreas for making a game that keeps me interested for that long. |

McCaffrey dominates rematch with Coburn
December 3, 1907
Dominic McCaffrey (19-7-3) scored a UD15 over #2 Joe Coburn (17-9-4) in a rematch that was dominated much like the first one. Not much to tell here, no knockdowns, no cuts. Coburn's right eye started to swell and caused him trouble throughout the fight. This was not a close fight. I had it 147-138. Mirco Mizera ringside 146-139. on the undercard HW - Mike Schreck (17-12) UD10 John Haines (13-14-2) MW - Frank Klaus (10-4-1) TKO6 Bob Moha (8-2) MW - Jimmy Handler (2-9-3) UD8 Jack Nelson (6-1) (Nelson fought pp in this club fight) WW - Jimmy Clabby (6-2-2) DRAW8 Bill Quinn (4-7-2) (Clabby fought pp in this club fight) FW - Marty McCue (6-12) KO9 Joe Cain (0-10) (club fight) |

It wasn't pretty but Ryan wins 30th
December 10, 1907
Tommy Ryan (30-0) won a MD15 over #4 Frank Craig (22-10-1) to win his second defense of his LBA Middleweight title. Ryan dominated the middle rounds and then held on to win the fight. The referee seemed to be pulling for Craig as he took points away from Ryan twice. Once for a low blow and once for holding and hitting. Ryan suffered a cut on the lip but other than that there were no cuts, swellings or knockdowns. I had it 143-141 for Ryan, so did ringside expert Tom Trunzo. The official judges had it 143-141/143-141/142-142. On the undercard MW - Charley Hitte (11-6) UD10 Jack Moffat (9-6) (Hitte stepped up to MW for this non-title bout) LW - Harry Lyons (23-12) TKO2 Will Curley (8-5) (Curley stepped up to LW for this fight) FW - Cal McCarthy (6-0) UD8 Joe Bernstein (7-12-3) (McCarthy fought pp for this club bout) HW - James Dalton (9-17-4) UD8 Harry Smith (5-1) (Smith fought pp for this club fight) HW - Stockings Conroy (5-0-1) DRAW8 Cleve Hawkins (5-3-1) (both fighters at pp for this club fight) |

McAuliffe holds off Blackburn in the late rounds
December 13, 1907
Jack McAuliffe (25-4-2) scored a UD15 over #8 Jack Blackburn (17-9-4) to win his 3rd defense of the title. It was a close fight until Blackburn wore down and McAuliffe took over winning the last 4 rounds, including a knockdown in the 15th round. Blackburn's left eye started to swell in the opening round, but didn't seem to bother him throughout the fight. McAuliffe started carrying his hands low in the 6th, but seemed to be more because he thought Blackburn couldn't hurt him. This dropped Blackburn to 0-2-1 in title fights. I had it 145-141, ringside expert George Thorn watched the ringcard girls and had it 143-142 in favor of Blackburn. The official judges 146-139/146-138/145-140. the entertain broadcast company who televised this fight will have a long talk with Thorn before he is invited back On the undercard BW - Jimmy Walsh (6-7-3) SD10 Digger Stanley (13-14-3) (Walsh continues to be unimpressive) HW - Ed Dunkhorst (18-13-3) TKO8 Peter Felix (11-13-1) FW - Jack Downey (6-1) UD8 Tommy White (5-3-1) (both fighters fought at pp for this club fight) LHW - Charlie O'Donnell (7-15-2) TKO3 Harry Baker (3-8-2) (Baker fought at pp in this club fight, he goes to prime but stays in the club ranks and will probably never see the main division) FW - Billy Whistler (6-12-3) UD10 Tommy Feltz (10-16-1) (Feltz stepped up to FW for this club fight) |
