Lba Retired Thread
My first fighter retired.
MW- Arthur Upham (1-24-4) (1900-1907) It was evident from the beginning that Upham would never be anything but an opponent starting off his career 0-4. He got his only win in his 5th fight a SD10 over Johnny McGlade. He then lost his next two fights to drop down to the club ranks on August 3rd, 1901. From there he would continue losing and became a stepping stone for beginners to cut their teeth on. He did have a year where he was 0-2-4 but that was too little too late. He is in end stage with 10 points left, he'll be gone inside 3 to 4 fights. I'm not forcing retirement, my universe needs punching bags ![]() |

Charles Lange .. worst ever?
Second retired fighter
HW - Charles Lange (0-22) Clearly a poor fighter. Lost 22 fights, being stopped 15 times. Never even came close to winning, all 7 fights that went the distance were UD. Last edited by mh2365 : 04-15-2007 at 07:11 PM. |

James Brady
MW - James Brady (5-19-5) decided it was time to hang it up after a 4th round KO at the hands of Denny Kelliher on November 20th, 1907.
Brady lost his first five fights to drop into the club ranks where he toiled for the rest of his career. He was a decent opponent for up and coming MW fighters. his biggest win probabley was against Pete McCoy by UD10 in December of 1901. 1903 was his best year when he went 2-2. He closed out his career losing 5 straight and winless in his last 8 bouts. Last edited by mh2365 : 04-15-2007 at 07:11 PM. |

Dunkhorst goes out on a winning note
HW - Ed Dunkhorst (18-13-3) decided to go out on a winning note announcing his retirement three weeks after a TKO8 over Peter Felix.
Dunkhorst said that he had had enough and it didn't appear he would ever get a title shot. Ed's biggest win probably came in April of 1902 when he KO Tom Sharkey in the 4th round. He closed out his career going 3-1-1 in 1907. Last edited by mh2365 : 04-15-2007 at 07:11 PM. |

Dempsey calls it quits
MW - Jack Dempsey NP coming off a loss to Tommy Ryan has decided to hang it up. He retires with a record of 30-4.
Dempsey was always a force in the MW division, but couldn't seem to come through in title fights as he went 1-4 in title bouts. His shining moment came in March of 1906 when he defeated Bob Fitzsimmons to win the title, only to lose it to Stanley Ketchel 4 months later. Two of his four losses came to Fitzsimmons. His last fight was a loss by TKO11 to Tommy Ryan in September of 1907. He will be missed. Last edited by mh2365 : 04-15-2007 at 07:12 PM. |

The # will get higher each year as they get more fights. For exammple a fighter with 45 fights will have a 15% chance to retire. |

That's a really good system you've got their for retirement. I've been trying to come up with a system for retirement for my universe and I may use this. Imitation is the highest form of flattery.
