This is the Royal Fleet Trophy which will go to the any horse that wins the Melbourne Cup, Kentucky Derby and the Scottish Grand National Meeting in the same year. (Analogous to the Triple Crown in real life.)
Thanks again Lee! Edit: The other trophy and an explanation are on the last page.)

Excellent stuff Chris. A good win for McAlinden to claim the English belt. Let's see if he can get the British title now. Nice to see Mick Leahy get a 'W' as well.

Another good win for McAlinden, although I think his bubble's going to burst soon.
I'll be following along with the cricket as well, and just hope England do better than there doing in the Ashes.

Chionoi Floors Darchinyan in Wild BrawlBrisbane, Australia: Streaky APBC Flyweight champion Chartchai Chionoi defended against the previously unbeaten Victorian State champion Vic Darchinyan in Brisbane. The fireworks began immediately as Chionoi reached down to hitch up his trunks just before catching a Darchinyan combination that sent him to the canvas at the 0:40 mark of the opening round. Chionoi gritted his way through the round only to be sent down again in the second from a terrific winder to the ribs. After winning the third handily, Darchinyan's fortunes began to turn in the fourth when he was blind-sided by a wild overhand right from the champ that sent him to a knee for only a two count. The wind seemed gone from the Aussie's sails as he absorbed more punishment from Chionoi in the fifth and sixth. The champ backed Darchinyan into a corner in the seventh and caught him with an uppercut that sent him down for the second time. With everything going the champ's way, he rested but still won for two rounds before blasting Darchinyan in the tenth. The challenger looked tired as he dragged himself out to center ring for the tenth and was greeted with a dozen unanswered blows that sent him sprawling for a third time. Somehow, the Aussie clawed his way back to his feet again but was unable to keep away from the punishing Thai's fists. A lighting bolt uppercut felled Darchinyan for good at the 2:35 mark leaving him with a 21-1-0 record.

Holy cow! Chionoi flattens the seemingly-invincible Darchinyan? How in the world did that happen?!?
Hey Chris, how do you manage to get all of the graphics and other elements into your posts?

The rating that came with the game would have never allowed this result but Chionoi would have had a shot at Vic in my opinion (not a big one, but a shot). Edit: the graphics are just hot links to phtos I have stored on my website. You don't have to have a wensite though, a lot of people use a site called photobucket, though I am unfamiliar with it.

After laying down my bet on the ponies I decided to finally stop being lazy and sit and read this thread and I must say I'm glad I did as this is some top quailty stuff. Watching the fall and rise of Kalli Knoetze, the Sands/Makembi series with David finally breaking through, Florentino Fernandez's regin of terror and it finally coming to a end and probably my favorite Tanveer Ahmed throwing everything back in the faces of his critcs and proving he is legit.
Can't wait for the Castro/Kittikasem World Title fight should be interesting to see if Castro can slow down the Thai Terror.

You even found all my favorites, especially Pakistani Tanveer Ahmed. He has gone 17-8-2 since winning his first 50 against stiffs in the Middle East. His only decent wins have been over Sauveur Benamou, Hoacine Khalfi and Najib Daho (out of 77 bouts!). He has lost in his bids for the AABU and world title but keeps plugging along with his two little belts. Since Sands beat Mpush Makembi, he has fallen on hard times loosing two more to Sumbu Kalambay and Vince Hawkins. He finally righted the ship with a win over Blessing Masinga but the losses have put him behind Kalambay and Victor Zalazar in the world rankings. It may be a while before he gets another crack at Sands. Thanks again Romy!

A sneak peek pilfered from the editor's desk by Chalky the Newsboy ![]() GLASGOW PICAYUNE Sporting Edition | Volume V, Issue I | 01 January, 1904 December Round-Up Cob Castro - Kittikasem; Something Had To Give:Mexico City, Mexico: December's World Jr Flyweight title fight turned out to be more one-sided than anyone would have ever guessed. With two undefeated mini-titans sporting 44 knockouts over 57 pro bouts between them, someone had to crack. APBC and Thai champion Muangchai Kittikasem came into the fight leaving a wake of broken dreams and bruised bones strewn across Asia and the Pacific. World champion Melchor Cob Castro had beaten all North American comers prior to being crowned the first REC world champ in January of 1902. In the two years since, Cob Castro made three successful defenses of his title. The first round brought the Mexico City crowd to their feet as Cob Castro pounced on his opponent over the final thirty seconds to take an otherwise lack-luster frame. Round two began slowly but soon found both men in the middle of the ring trading heavy blows. Cob Castro blinked first and was pursued as he tried to retreat from the Thai's furious barrage. Kittikasem landed a tremendous left and followed with a ripping uppercut that sent the champ into a neutral corner. Cob Castro held on to the Thai for dear life as the bell rang. For the first time in his pro career, Cob Castro looked scared in the third and with good reason. Kittikasem smelled blood even at this early stage and was relentless in his attack. The Thai was in perpetual motion as he battered the champ and won every round up to and including the ninth. With one knockdown in the eighth, Kittikasem was in complete command of the fight as the tenth began. Sporting a bloated face and with little left in his tank, all Cob Castro could do was to try and keep out of range but he failed even that. By the two-minute mark, Kittikasem had him pinned in a corner again and was unloading blow after blow when the referee stepped in to spare the now former champ. The win was Kittikasem's 34th against no defeats while Cob Castro falls to a record of 24-1-0. Royal Explorers Club World Jr Flyweight Top Ten - 01 January, 1904 Code:
(b) - South American Boxing Council Champion (c) - British Empire Champion (d) - Mexican Champion

Can he be stopped? Is there anyone in the world that can even slow down Kittikasem? Right now it doesn't look like there is.
