TB Database Boxer Profile Updates

I was going to start going through each fighter in the DB and look up corrections on BoxRec starting with the SW and working on up. Would any of the regulars want me to post them here? I asked a few months back but I got no response. Hopefully this time will be different.

... This would be a tremendous service to users of this Board to have this info in a centralized location.

Along the same lines, it would also be great to just have a list of fighters who were added or updated when the 2.0.25 patch came out in January 2006 as well.

For anyone that is confused I am not re-rating these guys. I am just updating info on the fighter, for any mistakes and wrong boxrec #'s.

I applaud your efforts - great job - I go through this type process every four months or so within my database.....add some fighters....and tweak some where appropriate (that I have seen video of, etc).

But in the current process you are doing.....you are simply updating their "official records" ...correct?

Not tweaking their ratings.....

Wow, you have your work cut out for you. I verified the original stock database for TB1, which has about 7,000 less fighters than now, and it took me about 3 months working 5-8 hours a day on it.

Exactly. I am just updating their records and BoxRec #'s. It is a task but I am up to the challenge.

I don't know how much I'll use them. I have start dates put in for almost everyone, then I add the boxrec # when they enter my universe and I tend to erase all biographies.

That said any contribution to the community is welcomed and I know people will use them. I would mention every couple of posts or so though that they aren't re-rated.

Like mh said these guys are not re-rated just updating the fighters personal information (name, DOB, hometown, height, weight, name spellings. ect) and adding BoxRec numbers to fighters who don't have one.
