I got my video out today. Also have the book around here somewhere.
Will get to it after a rewatch and a reread.

I'd rate him higher working on retired prime. Gossett was 55 when he took the role and had ballooned to over 240 pounds for his role in The Punisher.
He trained like hell to both loose weight and develop a believable boxing physique. Romano describes his traing regimen. He ate5 to 7 small meals a day to drop 40 pounds. He also did a four month 6 day a week training routine that included sparring sessions. I wish that some of our lard butt heavies like Jam-a-Meal McCline would find this kind of dedication, Gossett did it for a movie role.

I take he insights into the actor's training given in Romano into account when I rate these guys and Gossett gets a big plus for his work to prepare for the film

Another one that needs to take that advice, even more than "Pig Time" is James Toney. I don't think he ever misses a buffet table.

Robert B. Parker, author of the Spenser series is one of my favorite writers. His novel Doubleplay is about an ex-marine, ex-boxer, Joseph Burke who bodyguards Jackie Robinson. Fighters are:

That is why Frazier called him the toughest opponent he ever faced. Bonavena was relentless in those fights and in top physical condition.

Question-RE image transfer

I've been adding files to this thread. Why are the images appearing as jpg file and not as pics. The only pic I've been able to transfer is the Joe Plooka belt on another thread. I've moved image files here in the past but I'm obviously missing a step now.

When you load more than one file on a single post they all appear as line items and photos have to be opened in a separate window. If the only attachment is a single photo file, it will appear as the photo.

Now we can count the heavies that are in shape on one hand.

Spenser

Robert Parker is most noted for creating Spenser, a PI who once fought professionally. Robert Urich played Sepnser in a TV series and several films.
