How can i play a uni with current fighters?

I play with the current fighters. I have never really played a universe with the retired guys. I usually only use the retired guys in tourneys and such. The way I do my universe is sort of simple..nothing as elaborate as some of the guys on here,but here is how I play mine. First I have a tourney in each division to determine the undisputed champion. Depending on how many fighters I have in the division..usually will determine the size of the tourney. Take my heavyweight for instance...I had a 128 man tourney. Anyway,after finishing my tourney and getting an undisputed champion at each weight,I then take the fighters that didnt get to fight in their tourney or lost in the first round and have another tourney to determine what I call my ESPN champ(call it what you like..just do it so that I have two belts). That is my only two belts. I use the ESPN belt as a way of helping me determine who will get title shots. Then,I just take it from there. You can look at several of the guys universe on here to see how they determine cards and matchups. I usually start my universe as if it were to start today. In other words,I just play it like a universal commission has taken over the sport and ordered these tourneys to decide champions and rankings. I leave the fighters as they are right now..use the CS adjust and then just play it accordingly. Usually,I will concentrate on one division for a while and then move to another..it keeps it fresh and interesting. Really,you cant go wrong when playing this game..the only limits are your imagination and time that you have to play the game. I have played TBCB since it was an Avalon Hill board game in the late 70's. I have never gotten tired of the game. Sure,at times I get a little burned out on it..but usually a month or so break and I am eager to get right back at it. LOL. Well,enjoy..and although I dont post my universe on here because it really isnt as elaborate or as in depth as some of these guys..I urge you to think about posting your results and news..seems to help these guys and it makes for some great reading.
