Cleaning up my fighter ratins.
Due to the recent sale of TB, I'm going to clean up my fighter ratings.....3pt 2pt punches issued based on punching power and the clinching, ring movement, and punches missed rating. This should take a few weeks (850) files, so I will not be rating anything in the meantime. When I'm finished, I'll send the finished product to cornerwork and make an announcement.

Tweak away!
I've said before I'm a little hesitant to rate active figthers because the ratings are only close to accurate until their next fight. I have no ego on this (Tea and I have talked about it several times). Once they're out there, remake them however you like. I just rate them because I want them in my universe, and share them to give something back to the community. I prefer to rate guys who are done because I don't have to go back and re-rate them! Anyone who wants to update is more than welcome!

I've chatted with Mark several times about rating fighters. I have, by accident, re-rated some of his. It is far easier to rate a fighter after his career is complete.
I'm not sure about the fighters on ESPN2 tonight. I don't like to think of an overall rating when creating someone. As I've stated earlier, I just fill-in the blanks and get what I get. I wasn't overly impressed with either....Herman Ngoudjo has a few nice names on his record and Bailey does just enough to lose in the big fights. I would give Ngoudjo a nice FO rating and a -2 def not much in aggression around a 5/6 power number. Bailey is on the way down and is rated in the game.

Ngoudjo needs to be more aggressive but he does have nice defense. I can see him being a top fighter at JWW if he stops being so patient. Bailey is quite shopworn and him winning his last seven fights was basically on hand picked opponents. He still looks for the one big shot and I don't see the improvement in him as fighter like he and his camp claims.
Pascal uses his talent and speed to win fights but his technical ability is quite raw for a guy who spent a substancial amount of time as an amateur. At this point, Bute is the better SMW prospect. |

Feel free to tweak/update. I agree he should be higher-rated, based on the last two ...

Ngoudjo/Castillo was a very close fight. I recall Mike calling Herman "Joe Nobody"
.All kidding aside, Ngoudjo is a good fighter who should be a world champion at some point in his career. I think he would have beaten Bailey soundly if he wasn't so concerned with his power and came forward just a little bit more. |

I started creating fighters back in the card days with the board game. These days, I re-rate fighters based upon old articles, books, old fight accounts and IBHOF (International Boxing Hall of Fame) info. It's a slow process and if it weren't for the rest of you guys creating fighters, my universe would be about 25% smaller and a lot less exciting. |

I forgot to mention, that Rocco along with the others that I have mentioned, does an outstanding job creating fighters for the game.
