Sam's Sporting Club
Casablanca, Morocco

Sam inherited this night club when his best friend suddenly left the country with a Frenchman. After the war business went sour and Sam turned the place into a boxing gym. It took off with the locals and today has an international reputation as one of the premier gyms on the African continent. Almost any African boxer with a reputation has trained here and it was voted the official African and Arabian boxing HQ. Every now and then, while training or just catching a glimpse, you can hear 110 year old Sam playing "As Time Goes By" in the background, though not as brisk as he once did.

Wun Hung Lo's Fight Club
Shanghai, China

This seedy gin joint looks like the next drop of rain that hits it would send it reeling into the Yangtze River. Actually, the fight club is run in a large boxing gym in the basement. The main floor is a night club, if you dare call it that and the top floor is where the "entertainment" lives. With the stench of sewage and mildew in the air the local boxers train and fight when not running "errands" for the boss. The "entertainment" double as ring card girls in the fights. Gambling is rampant on fight night and many a poor souls have lost the shirt off their backs. One was so distraught when the verdict of the fight was announced he pulled a gun out and shot the winning fighter dead. The others quickly turned into a mob, grabbed him and dragged him over to the bar and hanged him from the rafters. The rope still hangs there to this day.
