Actually I've been back for a while. The large amount of ratings I did about a week ago were while I was home recovering. Then I burned out a little and had to do something else for a while. Going to start back on those Junior Featherweights this week.

ratings
I don't know that my ratings are better than anyone else's. The one's i post in the weight category threads (Heavyweights, Junior Lightweights, etc) arefrom old versions of the game. The other ratings are more or less simply based on the ratings of fighters with similar records. For instance, a fighter with a W12 (KO3)/L22(KO5)/D0 record will start me looking for someone in the data pool with something equivalent. Say I come across a fighter with a W13(KO4)/L12(KO2)/D1 record. I might decide that that's close enough to the fighter I'm seeking to rate to closely examine. If I decide that it is close enough, I'll copy that fighter's stats and then just overwrite the data of the new fighter and tweak his stats to fit my best guess. It's also good to closely examine the new fighter's boxrec fight history and see what you might glean from that. But a lot of things you have to guess at. Does he cut easy? What should his foul rating be? What is his style? Things like that you might not be able to clearly figure out just from the boxrec data alone. That's why my ratings are UNOFFICIAL. The TBCB DB Team, if they decide to use a fighter I've created, need to declare if the rating, after THEY'VE tinkered with it, becomes official.

Hi John,
By any chance would you have a lightweight rating for David Gonzalez, who is currently rated as a WW? I can remember the old Haffner games had him as a LW and he would be the only decent competition against "Sweet Pea" Whitaker. Every old time c-64 Haffner tourney I would run would always come down to Whitaker vs. Gonzalez, with Whitaker sweeping the fights vs. Gonzalez. Thanks, John |

d. Gonzalez
I can't find a rating for David Gonzalez from the old Heffner game as a lightweight. However, based on Vistaman's rating for him as a JWW I have come up with a Lightweight rating. I hope this is good enough. I'll keep an eye out for him as I carefully go through all my notes over the course of the next few months. He might be there somewhere. I'll also go back over the LH ratings.
