Thanks Ice for all the new heavyweights. I have a universe in which I am only using current fighters..this really helps my depth in the HW division. Good ratings..of the fighters who I had rated out of this bunch...we were very close in the ratings....a couple were so close that it was scary..lol. I dont usually try to rate fighters that I havent watched fight. I know some can look at boxrec career record and make a rating, but I like to know how the guy fights so I can get the jabs, hooks etc. at least close. Anyway, love your ratings and really apprecitate the time and effort that you put in to these ratings. Take care bro.

thanks guys! Rating fighters is the only thing I do with the game. I hold an occasional tournament but that is about it. I enjoy doing it.

Consider this strictly an "alternate suggestion.") I'm sure photos have been posted. If not, I have a bunch (let me know).

From San Vicente, Guantanamo, Cuba.
Fought as an amateur from 1980 to 2000 (the years in the career section on his fighter page. Note that he was 13 when he started, so you may want to change those for your universe.).
14-time Cuban national amateur heavyweight champion.
Olympic gold medal heavyweight in 1992, 1996 and 2000. Was also on 1988 Cuban team that boycotted the Olympic Games.
Verifiable amateur record of 387-21.
Some claims of his record are at 563-19.
Height 6-6.
Never fought as a pro.
In the amateur ranks he ...
Defeated Andrew Golota, Rodolfo Marin, Arnold Vanderlijde (five times), Orbit Pough, Michael Bentt, Jerry Goff, Ray Mercer, Yuri Vaulin, Axel Schulz, Shannon Briggs, Kirk Johnson (twice), David Tua, Dannell Nicholson, David Izon, Georgi Kandelaki (four times), Christophe Mendy (three times), Lamon Brewster, Luan Krasniqi (three times), Sinan Samil Sam, Nate Jones, David Defiagbon (twice), Tue Bjorn Thomsen, Ruslan Chagaev (twice), Giacobbe Fragomeni, Malcolm Tann, Davarryl Williamson, Odlanier Solis, Mohammed Azzouai, Michael Bennett, Sultan Ibragimov (twice) and Sebastian Koeber.
Lost to Chagaev (twice), Solis (twice) and Bennett.

Notes: This ranking is based on how he fared against fighters now rated in the game while they were amateurs. Bout and round lengths were considered, as well as factoring in the wearing of headgear.
Good job on Savon, Meade. He beat many HW's that went on to turn pro and who also has good amateur careers to boot. IMO Savon was one of the best amateur HW's of the 20th century not to turn pro. If he did, there would be no doubt that Savon would have won the HW championship of the world (at some point).

I did. I'll have to find him. I think I had him at a two.

... Meade, Kent, but I'm glad to do it. Needed a brief break from Africa fighters and trying to find the box with my last three women's division folders ... LOL!

I wonder how he would have done against Stevenson or Vysotsky. Vysotsky cut too easily but handed Stevenson his only losses (2) between the 72 and 76 games. Neither turned pro.

Trouble with the Savon upload

I'd like to thank Ice also for all the time he puts into the fighters that he posts. I have imported several of your fighters. I would also like to know if anybody else is having problems with the Savon data? I downloaded the data but when I import it to my database it freezes the game anytime that I try to go to that specific fighter. I would really like to use him in my HW universe, but I had to switch my entire database because this one file wouldnt work. Just wondering if someone else could tell me if they had the same problem and if there is anything I can do to correct the issue?

Sorry Mark. Was looking at a few posts by Meade prior to that. Hopefully you can find that box so you can get re-started on the women.

P.S. I'm a putz (sometimes)

I think Savon would have handled Vysotsky easily but him and Stevenson would have had barnburner written all over it. Could have been an outstanding amateur or pro fight.

Where?

Hey Icetea, is there anywhere that I can find anymore of your created HW/CW fighters? I would appreciate it since I am really only interested in that universe at this time. I have gone through all the threads and downloaded all the info in this forum and the older files that you sent to cornerwork. I think Egon Roth was one of your created files; he has moved up in my rankings to an unbelievable #5. He beat fellow German HW Mildenberger but lost to Schmeling. Thanks

I have all of my creations (700) in one file on my desktop. I think I have sent it to you. If not, just send me your email address and I'll send it to you. I'm not sure if the cornerwork files is updated.

... re-saved and re-uploaded to same location. For those having trouble, delete your previous and try again.

It is odd this only affects some of you. Wonder what the common factor is?
