Sammy Bienfield
Another Jewish banty out of Brooklyn, Bienfield (if it's pronounced like it would be in German, the name would be said "beanfield") fought from 1923 to 1925.

Amos Carlin
A New Orleans bantamweight, listed at #11 in Ring's year-end rankings for 1926, who died the next year in a drowning accident. A picture of him, along with his obituary, is here. (Although Ring had him ranked as a banty, Boxrec shows him as a flyweight. After all, Carlin fought Pancho Villa for the flyweight title. [Villa won in a newspaper decision.] In my universe, he is a fly.)

Nipper Pat Daly
An improbable bantamweight who started fighting professionally in 1922 at the age of nine (!) and was finished by the time he was 18. Be sure to check out the excellent story on him by clicking the website link that I've provided in the ratings.

"Cuban" Bobby Brown
Here's a tragic light heavy. Bobby Brown, the "Cuban Wonder," won 34 fights (27 by knockout) against just nine losses. Three weeks after losing to Tony Galento in October 1929, he died from his injuries.

Dave Maier
I can't explain my affinity for this light heavy. A hard-punching southpaw out of Milwaukee, he lost to George Nichols for the vacant NBA title in 1932.

Hey David thanks for the fighters, btw i rated Mickey Cohen a while back, our ratings are kinda similar but I think you were a bit more generous to him than i was, I rated him out as a 1 and i think yours is a 3 for him, I know that we differed in his cf's the most, otherwise we were close in the other depts. Keep up the good work,

Crusadecat,
Another Mickey Cohen also fought at about the same time--"Irish" Mickey Cohen, a lightweight out of Denver, who boxed from 1926 to 1935. He faced some good fighters: Baby Arizmendi, Chalky Wright, Varias Milling, Harry Dublinsky, all of whom he lost to. He did beat Mike Dundee, Dublinsky once, Tommy Grogan, Davey Abad, and Memphis Pal Moore. Perhaps he should be rated 3, with "Gangster" Mickey Cohen a 1.

Harold Smith
A Chicago bantamweight who was #6 in Ring's year-end rankings for 1924. He fought from 1921 to 1930, beating Joe Lynch and Young Montreal, but losing to Tony Canzoneri, Bushy Graham, and Memphis Pal Moore. A picture follows.
