mh2365's 1900 universe pics needed
I figured I'd start a new thread, maybe it can help others doing a 1900 universe. I have 37 out of 97 HW's that I need pics for
mike brennan con coughlin fred crossley james dalton jim daly - found mick dooley dick egan tompkin gilbert joe godfrey joe hess dan hickey henry higgans tom hinch syd hughes pat kieley charles lange tom lees jack malloy dan mccarty james mccoy john mcdermont charlie mcdonald jim miles martin neiry steve reynolds heriberto rojas jack scales william schiller mike sheehan billy smith - found jem stewart ben taylor - found mervine thompson - found gunner white billy wilson charlie wilson johnny woods I have looked for these guys fairly extensively and have not found them. A lot of the lesser lights of pre-WW1 are very difficult if not impossible to find. Suggest trolling EBay. I think the only reason I found Taylor is because, for a brief moment in time, he was famous because of his fights with Jack Johnson, Gunner Moir, etc.

Thanks cap and cat, honestly I don't expect alot of these to be found. I'm pretty good at finding them if they are on the net. What I don't have is any at home memorabilia to scan.

The caramel colored kings photo archive has a photo of Mervine Thompson as well as many many other hard to find pics of fighters we are looking for. I just don't wanna pay what they are asking for the photos.

Oh just as a side note, even though to my great dissapointment I could not find any portraits of prizefighters or photos. There were some great articles about Boxing at the BrooklynPublicLibrary.org And if you look in the Eagle they have old newspapers from 1840's to 1902 archived. Lotta fun to read about Mccoy and Creedon fighting for the middlewt championship. Good stuff
