I can remember him being the next big thing in boxing the Czyz beating him kinda took his momentum away then the Wamblet decision ended his career for all extensive purposes.

I sparred with him back in the late 80's at a boxing camp in NYS and overseas in Germany. He had a great righthand/left uppercut combination. I always thought he would be a heavyweight due to his wide shoulders, but he never faught above cruiserweight. I thought Al Cole, who was also in the Army was better.

I have a collection of old boxing magazines - dating back to the 1950's (from my Grandfather's collection). Sometimes when I look into the ratings, I find a fighter or two I think about rating. Some of these guys are obscure (to the average fan) but interesting.

My problem is; how do you arrive at final ratings numbers with some of these lesser-known fighters? Do you research their opponents and play test them against fighters that already exist in the game? It's easy modifying existing fighters, because the data and current activity is available. With some of the lesser known fighters, however, it doesn't seem too easy.

For example; Marcelo Fabian Dominguez - the WBC Cruiserweight Champ from the 80's.

I was just curious what process others are using to rate these guys.

That's basicaly it Jim. I guestimate where they should be overall, copy a similar fighter, modify the ratings based on the guidlines given in the article on the TBCB home page, then play test and tweek. In the end, judgement is what it boils down to, hence some of my ratings end up not being the best - but it sure is fun. Give it a whirl, the more raters here the better.
