... fighters with pics: Elmer Lewis and Clever Henry. Henry was a Philippine fighter who won the Hawaiian belt (pictured), and went 15 in a split decision loss to Tod Morgan in his first bout. By contrast, Lewis fought mostly 4- and 6-rounders, but did face a few recognizable names.

... here's 1940s-50s middleweight Joe "Bolo" Blackwood. An interesting guy, he fought 96 times in 14 years against some of the best of his era, beating George Benton, Artie Towne, Lino Armenteros, Izzy Jannazzo, Coley Welch and others. He came back seven years later and lost a light-heavyweight bout to Jimmy Ellis and re-retired. He died seven years later at age 44. Sorry, no pic.

He fits in nicely with my 1940s universe, so not a problem at all! I enjoy researching and ranking guys, and he's an interesting one for sure.
