Does anyone have photos for 40's MW's Jimmy Taylor, Joe Reddick, Jose Contreras, Freddie Lott and Ernie Pelaia. Also ratings for the above plus ratings for Henry Brimm, Ray Rovelli and Rocky Lucanio.

Thanks in advance,

Austin

Johnny Griffiths

Has anyone rated the Akron welterweight Johnny Griffiths, who fought from 1911 to 1924? He fought Ted (Kid) Lewis and Jack Britton for the world championship. (Boxrec id = 013660.) His photo has already been posted, but I can't find an exchange file with his ratings.

Many thanks in advance.

* I would assume that someone has rated him. He was in with some great fighters. If I don't see one in a few days, I'll do some research and toss one out there.

Johnny Griffiths

Griffiths met an astonishingly high number of top-flight boxers: Jack Britton (eight times!), Ted (Kid) Lewis (five), Mickey Walker (three), Jan Mandot (three), Bryan Downey (three), Frankie Schoell (twice), Charley White (twice), Matt Wells (twice), Freddie Welsh (twice), Willie Ritchie, Jimmy Slattery, Morrie Schlaifer, Jimmy Jones, Mexican Joe Rivers, Leach Cross, Milburn Saylor, Herb McCoy, Johnny Dundee, Phil Brock, Philadelphia Pal Moore, Eddie O'Keefe, Louis de Ponthieu, and Jack (Kid) Wolfe among others.

By my calculation 59 of his 122 fights were against world-class fighters, while 63 were against trial horses and tomato cans. I used these proportions in play-testing the attached fighter in over 4,000 bouts. The results are pretty accurate, I think.

Amoroso's record can be found here. I can post a picture if one is needed.

By all means ...

... post the Amoroso pic. If he hasn't been rated already, I'll add him to my list and "git 'er done!"

Don't know if ...

... you have this guy, mh, but he checked out just about the time you are in your universe. Anyway, for what it's worth, here's Young Pluto. (Pic by Chris, I think.)
