BOBBY BURNS FLY

Hometown - Dallas, Texas, USA

3(0)-9-4; 4 NC

Bobby Burns seemed to fight the same folks over and over again. He had a 0-2-2; 2 NC record against Battling Al Murray and had a 0-2-1; 1 NC record with Young Kid Zulu. When Burns fought Johnny Ertle in 1916, Ertle was supposedly defending the World Bantamweight title that he claimed to hold. While it may not be believable that Burns was qualified to to receive a title shot, it is certainly understandable why Ertle would have wanted to defend against Burns. In any event, Burns was stopped in the fourth and continued his unimpressive ways after the "title shot".

DEREK BERRY HW

Hometown - Rialto, California, USA

8(4)-4-1

Berry had a reasonably good start going 7(4)-1-0 through 2002. He has been 1(0)-3-1 since then with stoppage losses to Dominick Guinn and Calvin Brock. Given his age and career trajectory, Derek may be headed for retirement or the land of professional opponents.

JACK BURKE HW

Hometown - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA

15(9)-15-5; 1 NC

Burke was stopped ten times, but that is little wonder considering the competition that he faced during his seven year career. He was stopped by Georges Carpentier, Jack Delaney, Jimmy Slattery, Tommy Gibbons and Gene Tunney. He also dropped decision losses to Homer Smith and Billy Shade. Burke di manage one impressive victory in 1924 when he defeated Battling Siki in a twelve round decision.

These are the two photos that I have of Jack Burke. If they are both Irish Jack, then poor Jack is photoless.

If niether of these looks like Irish Jack to you, I need both the photo and file for him.

Thanks,

CONN

OK, based on the look of the photos and the career dates in question; I am assuming that the photos I posted are Irish Jack Burke and Cap's photo is Jack Burke.

mh2365 - would you be so kind as to post what you have for Irish Jack? I do not have a file for him.

Thanks guys (and good work SAL!)

the non Irish Jack Burke had John under Alias on box rec so I changed his name to that to keep it straight. Both of your pics are Irish ... here is his file ... as usual, unsure where I got it, don't import his history because he is active in my universe.

LOUIS BURKE JLW

Hometown - Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA

19(12)-3-0

Burke put together a nice career with all three losses comming against good competition in his final year as a pro. He holds two wins over Freddie Roach, was TKO'd by Hector Camacho and lost to Rosendo Alonso in a bid for the WBC Continental Americas JLW belt.

The game does allow you to refer to him as Irish Jack, so you can keep the name if you like. But then...you....probably already know...that.
