Delaney fought against some stiff competition and was never stopped in 71 bouts. Some of his victories include wins over Young Bob Fitzsimmons (2 X's), Frank Farmer, Ray Pelkey and Martin Burke. Some of his losses were to Harry Greb 3 times, Gene Tunney 2 times, Johnny Risko, Otto von Porat and Maxie Rosenbloom. Delaney lost once and had a draw with Tommy Loughran.

Delaney died at the age of 24 on March 4,1927 as a result of blood poisoning from an injury to his elbow he suffered in a fight with Maxie Rosenbloom on 1927-02-11. He did not realize the extent of the injury until after he fought Benny Ross 10 days after the Rosenbloom fight.

I just found a number of guys I thought I was missing. When I downloaded them from cornerwork or from here I didn't change their groups to correspond to those in my database. OOPS.

Actually what I meant is that he was already in my database and when I found his picture I forgot to check it against my database like I almost always do.

My wife thinks I need to take her on a vacation for our anniversary so I'll be missing from here for about a week. I do have my trusty laptop.... so I'll work on the missing fighters (Dave Deshler thru Bob Frost) from the list while I'm gone and post them when I get back.
