Problems with the Beta version

I upgraded today, and am regretting it.

For some reason, most of the text blocks are invisible to me. I can scroll over and click them, but otherwise, I cannot see them. For instance, on the fighters screen, FIGHTERS LIST are the only words I see on the top row.

All of the other screens are this way - about a quarter of the buttons are visible and everything else is not. Makes it very difficult to figure out what is what.

Since no one else has experienced this, it sounds like my computer is the problem. However, I had no problems until I upgraded this afternoon.

Anyone have any idea as to what the problem is?

TIA

I have no idea if TBCB uses the same style as OOTP, but when I get an issue like this in OOTP; it usually has to do with the 3D Graphics. If I disable/enable it, it usually fixes it in OOTP. But I don't know if TBCB has the same thing or not.

Did you restart your computer?

Yeah, sometimes a simple restart fixes things like this. Otherwise maybe you have to make an adjustment in the config.ini file. Sabotai or one of the other tech experts here can better advise.

I did restart, to no avail. I did need to go into the config file and set Uses D3D=No before the program would launch. Could this be part of the problem? If so, then I have another problem, because the program won't launch with D3D=Yes. I then have a No DirectDraw error.

Any of this sound familiar to anyone?

Thanks for the help guys.

Do you have the latest version of DirectX installed?
Also the latest version of your video card driver?
Sometimes it might also be useful just to reinstall the driver.

Thanks for the response Andreas. I installed the latest version of DirectX but to no avail. Then, just by happenstance, I changed the background skin for the main screen to DEFAULT. Low and behold, that fixed all the problems! Go figure...
