Aging for existing Uni question

Like a big dummy I never copied and saved instructions on auto-aging. I've spent the last hour looking for the discussion on it and can't find it.

My Uni is 2 years old. Fighters enter it in "Prime" phase of their career, with 20 fights vs. Tomato Cans to their credit.

I've decided I want to give TBCB responsibility of controlling the aging of my fighters, but with 2 years worth of Uni and enjoying every minute of it, I don't want to screw it all up. Can someone give me a quick tutorial on how to set this feature up using my existing database and records?

Thanks.

Matt

The main problem you are going to run into here is that as soon as you do the aging it will select a number in the range for every fighter, no matter where they currently are.

So say you set it at

5-8
10-12
20-30

Now lets say you have two guys at prime, one with 20 fights and one with 35 fights. I will pick a # between 20-30 for each of the guys. So those fights start counting then.

What I did was put a cap # on the guys could fight before turning. So when I activated it, I would automatically move any beginners up to pre-prime at 8 fights. It would work itself out from there. With pre-prime guys, I've capped it at 25 fights. Prime I'm letting them go because I have a random retire and random turn to post-prime chance at the end of every year.

I'll work up a quick tutorial on what to do in the next post.

It's actually kinda of simple ... on the options page work straight down the list.

Check mark automatic aging, then check mark always inform about aging, then set your levels.

Next hit the activate auto aging for all fighters button.

Last thing you do is hit calculate.

Then you are set.

A work around solution to the above problem would be not to hit the last two buttons, then as you manually age a fighter to the next level hit his check his auto aging button on his fighter screen prior to changing his stage.

Thanks Mike. I think I got it. I guess if I didn't figure it out, worse thing that happens is I have to manually reset phase again.

Exactly, when you manually change the stage the random # is picked again so there is a safeguard. I just had my first guy change from pre-prime to prime so I was happy. The only stage I haven't had change yet is prime to post, but I have it set from 20-35 and the most anyone has fought since I switched over is probably 4 times, so that one will be a while.

Good luck and keep up the good work in your thread.

I've had several guys raised to pre-prime from Beginner, but no one has gone from Pre-Prime to Prime yet. What happens if you change the numbers and hit "calculate" again?

Cap,

It will start the aging process at the point they are now.

Ie. Say that I have 5-7 as pre-prime to prime. A fighter has fought 5 fights and is scheduled by the game to go to prime after his next bout, of course I don't know that because it is hidden. If I do not recalculate he will change. If I calculate, he will have to fight 5-7 more fights before he changes.

Calculating assigns a random number beginning where the fighter is at that moment.

At least I think that's how it works....
