Negative points for a win

This business of handing out negative PP for a win really needs to be fixed. There should be a minimum value for a win regardless how poor the opponent is. Even zero points awarded as a minimum would be preferable to loosing points by beating a stiff.

Yeah whenever I have a high ranked guy vs a low ranked guy, I check it at the end of the fight. I usually set the min at 20, so if he got less than 20 for the win then I manually adjust it.

When you can get to it Andreas, this really is a glaring problem that needs to be fixed.

Thank you

It's on my list in the beta thread but is it that big of a problem for you? You must have alot more ranked fighters in your universe than I do, because I have yet to see negative points. I've seen single digits but not negative.

Well, I have over 8,000 active fighters including the cannon fodder. Where I see it the most is in the developmental stages of a rookie. They will have 5 or 6 fights under their belts, all wins against stiffs (some ranked - some not) and a negative value for each win. And odd values at that like -7.29 or -3.62.

okay ... now I could see that but I don't let any of the TC's drop below -100. I have them in a different groups so they aren't ranked or scheduled, it is strictly autoschedules for them. At the end of each month any TC that has dropped below -100 I change them back to positive 100. Now if eventually I get a ton more ranked I could have that problem. Anyone who drops below 20 I will manually give them 20.

It'd be nice if it would do it for you though.

I belabor the point only because Andreas popped in today:

Andreas:

Would it be difficult to code a floor for the pp awarded on a win without messing up the whole system? It would be great to have negative points never awarded for a win no matter how poor the opponent is.

I think 20 is a good bottom line

I think making it configurable by the user (like the rating system) would probably be the best option.

Ok, I am starting to do this. I do it division by division before I do a month's scheduling. It is a royal pain in the neck the first time through but should be easier once I go through one cycle.

Yeah I only do this with the TC's which I keep in a seperate group. I have no bottom for real fighters but I do check PP at the end of each fight if one fighter is really low ranked. At that point I make sure the winner gets at least 20 for the fight.

I end up changed 1 or 2 TC's in each weight class each month. I have so many TC's that it doesn't take much. I keep no track of TC's records or anything. I will use the same one's forever.
