Lost some boxer's rating
Hi !
Thanks for this fantastic simulation that i'm playing for about 3 years now ! Unfortunately, i don't know why, but i lost some boxer's rating (about 500 ). The stats are ok but the rating is now 0. It would be really appreciated if someone can help me recovering these importants files for my universe. Thanks in advance Danmoris |

Sorry Javier, but the solution didn't work for me. I think i found the reason why this situation happened to me. i updated tb2 and after opened it, i realise that i lost 500 ratings, all reset to 0. However, the stats victory and defeat ... stay the same (hopfully !) Now i'm reinstalling the game in another folder and transfert all the data files but nothing happens. I can't imagine that i'm gonna have to write all this ratings manually...
Do you have a simple and fast solution Jav cause i'm a little bit desesperated ! Danmoris |

Here's some more threads on this ...
.dat file error when opening the game
Empty Rating records... Post #2 of the second thread cross-references more of these help threads. The only real shortcut "fix" for those who haven't made frequent backups of the key "ratingrecords.dat" file is to insert a fairly recent automated "ratingrecords.bak" file (see instructions on how to do this in the posts). However, the bad news is bad news -- the only way to keep your database going is to insert the numbers by hand, as once TB 2 came out, they separated the ratings and the stats into different files when the stuff is saved (probably so you could move a fighter to a different division and keep the history and stats, etc.) but apparently when they did it they created this bug that has plagued many users, which is why I backup those files after every session. Please be advised I am not a computer expert, but my advice is based on hard and bitter experience dealing with this highly pernicious bug. |

Best advice ...
... try post #2 of this thread, initiated by Mudster over a year ago.
No Rating Record Found Error I certainly hope OOTP looks into fixing this in the next edition as many have complained about it. |

Thanks all for trying to help me. I read all the topic and try all that you are saying but i had no success
I'm wandering if there is a way to retreive the boxer's rating of some of my boxers like Walter Acosta and Yosukezam Nishijima because i'm playing my universe with these 2 boxers and lost the rating of both. Maybe someone can send me the file via email... I take a chance ...danmoris15 @ hotmail. com Again, you are a nice communauty ! Sorry for my english... A old amateur boxer of 35.... |

Locating Boxer Ratings
if the boxer ratings you are missing are fighters from the original game, then there should be a "default" database that was generated when you downloaded the game. You can then access them by creating a new database from the default database. If, on the other hand, these are boxers added to the original game, then you need to go back to the source where you found them initially.
As noted in my previous posts, if you then transfer the fighter files to your active database (the one with the zeroed-out ratings), you will then have the correct ratings but the stats and history files will be re-written as well, which is why I recommend transferring the ratings by hand for any active boxers whose records you care about in your database. |
