Have files, but how do I reinstall on new computer?
Hi gents,
Alas, my old computer's motherboard croaked. Beforehand, I was able to save my files for TBCB 2.5 (inside are DefaultData, Exchange, Images, Logs, Saved Games). I now have a new computer, and want to load the game on it. But in the files I saved, I don't see any .exe file to click on to reinstall the game, nor do I see my license anywhere. Am I missing something? Where should I be looking? I do believe my old hard drive is intact if I need to dig something out of there. Thanks! ![]() |

If you have your files with your saved games and unis, after you install your new game create unis that have your old iniverse names. When you've done that you can go into the OOTP file in my documents and copy your old files into the newly created saved games that have your old universe name. Your old files will overwrite the new game you created and you should have your old uni back. Bear

Thank you, gents, for your help. I am stuck for the moment. I am patiently waiting to hear back from elicense...been waiting for several days. I will try Bear's method too (just saw it).
I'll reply back when I have news. I'm very appreciative of your assistance. ![]() |

One good thing happened, followed by a few bad.
![]() I was able to transfer the license. Approved. But... I transferred over the Program files (C:\Program Files\Out of the Park Developments\Title Bout Championship Boxing 2.5) and Documents (C:\Users\Steve\Documents\Out of the Park Developments 2.5). Ok so far. But when I click on the icon to open the game, I get three popups:

Not exactly the same problem but Vista related:
FAQ: If you're having problems to start TB2 on Vista. If you try starting the game on an MS Vista computer and nothing happens, try to start the game as Admin: right click on the shortcut and select "Run as Admin...". If that doesn't work, uninstall and the install as admin. If it runs, you should be able to run the game without that trick next time. If that doesn't work, the developer may need to help you directly. Christopher

Thanks Chris. Well, I think I solved my problem (*crosses fingers*). I have two Users on my Vista computer. I had been trying to load TBCB 2.5 on the one that does not have admin. rights. (I keep financial info, etc. on my locked User that has admin. rights to everything, but allow games, etc on the other User so visitors can play games, surf the web, etc.) Lo and behold, I noticed that I COULD open up the game as the User WITH admin. rights. So I took my saved universe game folder, popped it into the User's (that has admin. privileges) TBCB Documents folder, and voila everything seems to be there.
![]() I haven't fought any matches yet (no time) but hopefully everything works ok. I'll report back if there is a further problem. Last edited by stevebydac : 07-13-2008 at 08:28 PM. |
