Illegal Operation?

Ok. I corrected my PC problems. However, when I tried to start the game by clicking on the desktop icon, I got the now familiar garbage about performing an illegal operation. I removed the programme as best I could and downloaded it again. The Elicense appears to be still with us, by the way. I still get the same message when I try to start up TBCB.

What do I do now? Should I unlicense via Control Panel? Should I just say, the heck with it and go back to TF2K1? There must be a simple fix for this. It worked fairly well the first time I downloaded it.

Cap,

The best place to start is right from the beginning. Meaning, uninstall everything and manually delete the TB folder via explorer. Just make sure to unlicense the game first.

Then download a fresh install package and walk through the steps.

Also, as you might have already done, make sure that you have DirectX9.0b installed.

After all of that if you still have the same problems then at least we will know that it's not a corrupt installation.

Since you needed to have your computer fixed from the company that made it then there is always the possibility that they reinstalled certain drivers and not others. The process above should help to limit the number of options and hopefully isolate the solution for you.

Thanks for the great tips, Couriers. I reinstalled a few drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the sim, and much tinkering later, got the game running. Still need a new video card put in when I get the money.
