Fight Stoppage Bug

I just finished a fight where the loser was declared such by the doctor when his eyes were too shot. Problem is, in the rules I declared that only the ref can stop the fight, not the doctor. I checked the bout report just to make sure that I hadn't accidentally messed with the rules.

Anyone else have this problem? I can provide any details neccessary.

I thought I had this problem once. I am not saying you don't, but check the text of the pbp carefully. It might say something like 'the referee is asking the doctor to examine the fighter, the doctor says the eyes are bad, and the REFEREE stops the fight'.

If that isn't it, then you may have found a bug.

That reminds me. If you set it up so that the ref and two judges score the fight, do you have to have the ref listed amongst your available judges?

Cap:

If the scoring system is set to two judges and the ref, then it uses the first two judges listed, ignoring the third. That's the only system I use in my fictional universe, so I tested it a lot to make sure I knew what I was doing. I just use two judges in the first two slots and "Generic 1" in the third, since he doesn't matter at all.

mking55:

Here's the commentary from the bout...

"Referee Kent interrupts the action here in Round 3. He's leading Willits to his corner and calling for the ringside doctor. The doctor rushes over to take a look at Willits's eye... It's over! Willits's eye is too bad to allow the fight to continue. Busse raises his arms in victory."

...I actually can't tell who stopped it, come to think of it.

The ref might be the only one able to stop the fight.
But there is nothing to stop him asking the doctor to take a look at the fighter in question.

Then i feel sure he would be unwise to ignore the pro advice given him, and would stop it.

So in affect the ref has stopped the fight.

Hmm... okay, cool, thanks for explaining that. I assumed that the ref would never ask the doctor's opinion if only the ref could stop the fight, but yeah, I see how that is.
