Please Help. I messed something up!!!

Hey Guys,

I need some help. I may have messed something up!

I wanted to create my own universe. I may have messed something up that causes me to get error messages when I try to play. First, let me say that I am running windows XP. I have downloaded the latest patch and the game has been doing wonderfully until I decided to create my own Universe!

This is what was trying to accomplish. I wanted my universe to begin on 1-1-1900. I wanted it to be “fictional”. I was going to sim out matches and every year add a handful of guys to the database. I was going to adjust for aging as I went along. My plan to create a fictional database was to just create a new group and transfer the boxers over that I wanted and then change their names. All of this actually worked really well until I started tinkering with it.

This is what I did…
1) I created a new database called “Global Championship Boxing”.

2) I created a new group called “GCB”.

3) I went through and added 143 boxers (HW ONLY) to that group. The number 143 is not important, it just worked out that way.

4) Then I went through and deleted ALL of the other fighters. I did this by deleting the “WOMEN” group and then by deleting the “MEN” group. This only left one group. My “GCB”.

5) I then created new “RULES” for my “GCB”.

6) I then deleted ALL the other “RULES” (WBA, WBC, IBO, etc.) Leaving only My “GCB” in the rules section.

7) I then created a title in the “TITLES” section for my “GCB”.

8)Since all of the other organizations do not exist in my universe, I then deleted ALL the other “TITLES”.

So, basically the only options my universe has to choose from is My “GCB” and “ALL”.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I can and have been playing the game, but I am getting ERROR MESSAGES at certain stages of the process of playing. Example..

When I go to click on “START FIGHT” to set up a fight, I get the message:
ERROR: NO RETURN VALUE IN
CPULLDOWN::GETINTVALUE{}!
VALUE=
POS=117/392

I click “OK” and it goes away, which takes me to my preflight screen telling me about the condition of my fighters. I click on “START BOUT” and another ERROR MESSAGE pops up…
ERROR:UNKNOWN VALUE IN
TS::GETTEXTFORRAREOCCURANCESTOPPAGEDECISION

I click “OK” and the fight continues fine.

What did I do to cause these ERROR MESSAGES, and what can I do to fix it?

By the way,

I switched the database back to the MyDB and the game works just fine with no error messages. There must be something that I did when I created my own universe.

I had a similar problem once with those same errors.

Try going to your GCB Rules and make sure that every category is accounted for (especially the headbutt rule). Then, when you go to create a fight, make sure that the GCB rules are the ones being used.

Anyway, that's where my problem turned out to be.

Good luck.

Small glitch, Andreas. Now when I run a fight, when the verdict is read, instead of the two judges and referee, I get two judges and someone named Mark Wellfair or something. But when I go to the post fight report and check the scorecards, I see the ref's name.

I checked and made sure that all rules are accounted for and I still get the error messages.

Any other ideas that I can try?

Thanks again for helping!
