Windows 98 weirdness *UPDATED*

Okay, I want to TRY and get Title Bout setup on Win98. The system has no net access so I'm going to have to try the offline license thing.

Now, the problem... The software seems very flaky. I click the "License" button, the software vanishes, the mouse still works, but the system has locked. I click purchase, I choose "buy by phone" more an experiment than anything else, same deal.

Anyone have any idea? I mean I paid for 2 licenses when I bought the game, but things just are not working out.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Bollocks, wrong forum. If it's possible, please move it.

Are you using the latest setup file? The first versions had a bug and it looked like your issue.

Also make sure that you're using DirectX8.1 or higher!

I downloaded the archive about 5 days ago

Not sure on the DX issue. I know I installed DX from Links 2003. I'll have to check.

It's weird. The "purchase" thing popped up once, but hasn't since.

I am totally confused I'll update this thread if I fix the issue.

Thanks Andreas.

Okay Andreas, I got it sorted out.

VERY strange. If I load Win98 and go to open the license box, the system all but locks up as I said. If I run a program requiring DirectX first, THEN run the program, it runs fine?!

Regardless, the offline license thing was braindamagingly easy and I'm now a very happy camper. Just figured I'd mention the DX weirdness for you Andreas in case there's some weird gremlin somewhere in the code (though it's probably the computer.)
