Title Bout won't let me license!!!

Ok....I had this problem with ITP and for some reason it just started working on its own, but Title Bout is not working...heres the problem....I d/l it, install it and load it..I get to the purchase screen and no matter what option I pick, Desktop, Web or phone as soon as I select one of them my computer FREEZES...now before anyone asks, I DO NOT HAVE A SERVICES TAB ON MY MSCONFIG SCREEN!! I have a startup tab and yes, my LicCtrl is checked (the program is called runservice.exe)..I am at my wits end as I have restarted my comp about 20 times..i have re-installed the game, etc... I run windows 98 and have OOTP 5 and ITP on here and both work..my ITP gave me the same prob AFTER I licensed it, but suddenly it began working and has been fine since...any suggestions? id really like to buy Title Bout but its becoming not worth the effort.. I asked OOTP support about this in December but never got a response...

ok...I tried running another program that requires direct x (OOTP 5 and then ITP)...I also tried turning off the sound in the .ini file as well as trying to run it w/o 3d enabled...it just locks up my comp every time... and no, I havent bought it yet, it locks up either after I select a purchase option OR it just partially loads to that screen where u cant see any graphics and just freezez...my mouse still works but my comp is frozen......

Im running Direct X version 9.0 b, the lates version...and I would purchase via phone but it locks up even if I select the license option....this is frustrating...my comp specs exceed those required and I dont have a prob with OOTP nor ITP...ITP had the prob with the licensing portion, it would lock up when I tried to select the license feature, but suddenly began working

I was having this problem too a week or so back.

The way I found round it was to run a game that needs directx, THEN try and run the program. Seriously, if I fired up Title Bout and went to license it, it froze the system. If I ran a game first THEN tried, it would work.

Long shot, but that was the issue with me. Hope it works/worked for you!

I was having the saem issue with my Win 98 PC, multiple lockups. What I did was (1) make sure your screen is set to the proper display (2) disable your firewall. Everything worked fine afterwards.
