Hello I'm new and have a problem
Hello everyone, I discovered this game through a search engine while looking for boxing sims. I've always wanted a boxing simulation (in fact almost exactly like this one!) so to see this site was brilliant. Anyway, I downloaded the game and I started my 'trial period' yesterday.
Before I go onto my problem, let me say how excellent this game seems so far. I've only done two fights so far but from what I've seen it is a really good game. The reason why I haven't done more than two fights is my main problem - freezing. For the first few times I tried to load the game up, I would press on 'Trial' and my computer would completely lock up and freeze so I had to switch it off at the mains. I came across your help guide for some guidance and after installing the latest Direct X 9, installing the latest driver for my graphics card and doing everything else you mentioned, the game still would not load up. I then saw the bit about renaming the database in the 'config' file in the TBCB directory. I renamed the database to 'NewDB1' and bingo, the game loaded and I started playing. However, the next time I loaded up my computer, the freezing problem was back in force, and I had to rename the database again, which again did the trick and the game loaded up fine. Today I played my second fight on the game and soon after had to get off the computer so on the main screen I pressed to quit the game and it went off. However, when the game went off my computer was locked up again, totally frozen like it was when I was trying to get it to start earlier on. Everything is right on my computer, e.g. the resolution and colour settings, etc. I just can't understand why I always have this freezing problem. While the game is running, everything is 100% fine, in fact it runs at top notch speed and has a great interface. The freezing seems to happen randomly, which is putting me off buying the game. When I play it, I really enjoy it and want to purchase it but I can't buy something which might continue to freeze my computer up for no apparent reason. Plus, if I paid money for the game but had to keep making 'new database names' each time I loaded up the game, I doubt that I would be able to save my progress on the game. If anyone can shed any light on this problem I would really appreciate it. Obviously I don't have long to try the game before deciding whether to buy or not so obviously I would like to test the game out to its full capabilities before the end of the demo period. Again, well done for a nice game! |

Thanks for your post, and for the detailed description of the problem! This "freezing-bug" seems to happen pretty often in the last time - first I thought it could just be a compatibility problem on some computers, but now I think it's really a bug somewhere which has been added with one of the patches... I will try to find out what it is ASAP.
