Sorry to waste everyone's time...

Hi.

Sorry to be thick and to expound on this at length; but I've downloaded the demo and wish to play. However, I can't run the game -- it hangs the PC on the register screen. Having checked the forums until my eyes bleed I have discovered that most people who have this problem have issues with DirectX.

It appears I don't have the required versh of DirectX. I have something like version 8.0.

No problemo, I download version 8.1. This executable tells me that
DirectX8.1 is incompatible with my PC's operating system (Windows 95).

So now I'm thinking that either A) the universe is pulling a cruel trick on me or B) the tech specs you list on the website are somewhat misleading (it says Title Bout runs under Win95, yet if the required DirectX version won't run under Win95, then surely the damn thing is COMPLETELY incompatible with the operating system?)....

Sorry to be a pain, it's just I'm on dialup as well, so downloading fifteen
meg DirectX apps only to be told that they won't run on my PC is a bit
annoying... Does anyone have any possible fixes for this? Or is it just complete no-go for me here? Has anyone got the game to run under Win95? Am I missing something?

Anyway, take care all. Thanking you in advance,

Nels.

Nels, the only way I could get the game to run was to load it on to a newer PC with Windows XP. Even with Win98 it was spotty, but I think the problem there was a Voodoo video card.

Thanks man. It's nice to have confirmation either way -- I cannot upgrade though, not even to play a boxing game...

I suppose my next step is to find someone selling a copy of Title Fight...

Cheers

Title Bout Championship Boxing

Delivery Method: Electronic Download, Windows PC-CDROM
Platform: Windows 98/ME/XP/2000

Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s fight time! Out of the Park Developments is proud to announce the release of Title Bout Championship Boxing, the most complete, most accurate and most enjoyable simulation of professional boxing on the market.

Title Bout Championship Boxing far surpasses all previous versions by introducing dozens of new features like Top Ten Lists, ability to work a fighter’s corner, a new and more intuitive interface, graphics, sound effects... everything you need to make you feel like you’re ringside for a bout between two of the over 3600 fighters.

Want to restage a classic bout, like Jack Dempsey vs. Gene Tunney? Or perhaps do a "what if" matching Sugar Ray Robinson against Marvin Hagler? Or maybe even predict the future by fighting Wladimir Klitschko against Lennox Lewis? All of these are possible with Title Bout. And you can fight each fight one time or one thousand times!
