Fights won't start. tb1.exe error message

Andreas,
Whenever I try to begin a fight, it immediately tells me the above error, and restarts the game. This is as far as I've gotten. Also, I tried the msconfig in the run, and when I hit enter, it tells me it cannot find it or one of its components.
Help!!!!! This happens ineither mode, with 3d or not.

As no one at OOTP seems free to help you right now, maybe crusadecat or sabotai will see this and offer a possible solution.

Cheers Cap. Yes you are right about no official help. I am going to email the support team and see if I get a response. I will let you know how I get on.

Now this is getting weird. After trying all manner of different ways to try and get the game to work, I have found that installing patch 1.2 make the game work again. Bizarre.

Im stuck with this same issue. The game fires up all is fine, then after launching a fight you can see the fight screen briefly - some of the fighter status bars are missing - then TB has encountered error and do you want to send a report!..

this is killing me!! - this is common error!! whats the fix? and ive tried everything that has been suggested on this forum.. does it not like xp? or radeon vid cards? - hate to barge in here but i would love a solution to this.. game is now defuncted!..

I only have the problem when it comes time to display the fight screen. I can sim schedule bout no probs as long as i dont watche them.. The minute i watch a bout - Error..

Doc, I know someone else using Radeon card with no problem. Do you have all the latest drivers for everything? Problem with PC gaming is all the different PCs and configurations you have to design for. Probably why some companies have abandoned PC gaming for the console.

Wink

Buddy, - im running all available service packs and upgrades.. if i patch this baby anymore its going to look like a mummy!.

the video card is up to date - sound drivers - latest edition. Im a bit autistic when it comes to my computer - compulsive even

I had it running not a problem on my old win98 machine - having said that, i couldnt get it to run on my girl's computer: it encountered the lock up issue at registration. I can tell you, i was most distraught - if i could have got it running on hers, well, i would have been round more often.

to be honest ive given up now and moved on. A bit pissed - but i got my moneys worth when it was behaving. I just check in now and then to see if there is a fix or something - there is always hope.

There is still abit of amusement to be had by simming a universe through the auto scheduler and going through fighter records and reading a fight or 2

i can understand the moves to producing for the console but hey, it just doesnt deliver the same celebrial stimulation.. getting old and like to sip a coffee through my games now -

Doc

My problems seemed to start when I switched graphics card from NVIDIA to ATI. Try reinstalling and if you have Title Bout Quiz remove it.

We had a similar problem with ATI video cards and it could be fixed by starting dxdiag (Windows Start menu, Click on "Run...", enter "dxdiag" and press enter) and then playing around with the DirectX Features settings on the third tab in the dxdiag window.
Hope that helps!
The patch will be there in a few days if the testers don't find anything, together with a Title Bout Quiz patch, and there are some changes made to the graphics libraries which should make the games more compatible.
